READER'S POV

Shadow had his arm tightly around his blue hedgehog as he carried him back to their house over his shoulder. His pace slowed to a steady heavy walk when he approached the front door to their home. Shadow was breathing heavier because of how exhausted he was from carrying Sonic's unconscious body all the way from town, along with an armful of bags that were digging into his other skin. Shadow shoved his hand in his pocket and pulled out his key while also trying to keep his balance from falling over. The added weight on his body was taking a toll on his legs. He unlocked the door, twisted the handle, and cracked the door open enough for it not to click back into the frame. Shadow kicked open the door slamming it against the inner wall of the house.

"Uugh.." Sonic groaned holding his hand to his forehead. Shadow felt the hedgehog's weight shift as he was waking up. Shadow walked inside, kicked the door closed, and dropped his bags on the ground at the entry of their home. He walked over to the center of their living room where the couch sat. Sonic started to stir on Shadow's shoulder, but Shadow was completely over carrying his partner. He placed his other hand around the blue hog, grabbed his body tightly, and threw him harshly onto the couch. The force of being thrown down on the furniture caused Sonic to be knocked out of breath. "Ah! Why did you do that?" He said, now being fully awake. Sonic rubbed the side of his head where he was previously kicked and stared up at an angry hedgehog whose temper was about to explode. Shadow clenched his fist and pointed back at him, "Why the fuck are you acting like an idiot? You injured both of your brothers today!"
Sonic leaned back, and relaxed his arms on the back of the couch. He crossed one leg over the other, "ah, Knuckles is fine, and Tails has been through some tough battles before. They will make it."
His eyes darted up and down scanning the details of Shadow's body. Shadow was still panting heavily from having carried his partner back home. His mental strain on the situation was about to break. Sonic smirked at him, "You're so hot."

SHADOW'S POV

I felt my face had flushed red from the sudden, and uncalled for, compliment. I shook it off trying not to get distracted, "did something happen to your head? You have been acting completely differently since we got back from the hospital."

Sonic sighed, he placed his hands on his knees and rose up from the couch. He now stood in front of me unbothered, "I've been the same, Shadz." He began to trace his index finger up my chest and into my white fur. He started wrapping some strands around his finger. I swatted his hand away, "This isn't the Sonic that I know, you're-" I cut myself off as he stared at me with a raised brow and hands on his hips. Sonic has always been a bit short tempered, quick-witted, and sometimes flirtatious, but he hasn't changed. It's more like a dial turned inside his head from docile to eccentric. I continued my sentence more calmly, "...you're acting extreme."
"I'm being extreme?!" His voice sounded hostile as he flared up his quills, "I'll show you extreme." He grabbed my arm with a sly grin across his face. I shoved my other hand into his chest and growled "enough!" Suddenly he twisted my arm behind my back making me bend. He walked me forward a few feet shoving me into the wall. His other hand pushed against the back of my head forcing my cheek against the surface. He whispered into my ear, "I don't want to fight Shadow. Even if we did, I would never do anything to hurt you."

READER'S POV

Sonic was suddenly left alone with empty space and a bare wall. Green sparks of energy fizzed in the air and landed small static in his hands. He clenched his fist tightly shut in frustration of his partner being gone. The lone hedgehog held his head in his hands, and tilted his head back screaming up to the ceiling,"AHHH!"
