READER'S POV

Shadow wanted to go out and bring Sonic with him, but his partner started throwing an absolute tantrum over his harness.
"I hate this fucking thing!" Sonic said loudly, pulling at the straps that wrapped around his chest. "I can't stand this...stupid...GYAH!"
Shadow watched as Sonic continued to struggle with it. He yanked and pulled more until he eventually ripped it off of himelf, breaking the latches that once clicked together. Sonic placed a strap into his teeth and started to rip the threads in his fangs. He pulled at it until it shredded in half.

"I'm never going to wear that again!" He said, throwing it on the floor near Shadow's feet.
The blue hedgehog continued, "It's cringe and uncool."

"Fine, you don't have to wear it," Shadow shrugged.
"Really?" Asked the blue one.
"Really," Shadow replied. He switched into a more firm tone, "And since you don't want to wear it, you won't be coming with me any more."
"NO!" the blue one shouted, he fell to his knees and held onto the darker ones' ankles.

The ebony hedgehog lifted his foot and shook his partner off. It was successful but only for a moment, for the blue one scrambled back up and wrapped his arms tightly around Shadow's torso.
The ebony hedgehog grunted and rolled his eyes.

Bzzzt
Shadow's phone vibrated in his pocket. He dug his hand past Sonic's arm.
Bzzzt
Shadow grabbed his phone and squinted to read who it was.
Bzzzt
It was Silver.

Out of panic Shadow snapped his finger and used chaos control to disappear out of his partner's hold. Sonic stared dumbfounded at the empty space he was left with. He glanced around rapidly looking for his missing Shadow. He turned around and saw his partner now propped against the wall on the other side of the room talking into his phone.

Shadow cupped his hand around the speaker of his device, "what do you want now?"
Sonic's ear flicked up.
"It's our scheduled date night," Silver proclaimed, "come meet me at the bar."
Shadow's nostrils flared. He hung up his phone and started to head for the door. When he reached for the knob he was suddenly restrained by two arms. One wrapped around his waist and the other around his collar bone.

The ebony hedgehog turned his head to glare back at the blue one, "let go."
"No...I won't." The blue one growled.
"You have to let me go."
"Bring me with you," the blue one's voice turned into a depressing mutter.
"I can't," Shadow wiggled against his hold, but it only made Sonic's grip tighter.
The blue one's emotions turned again, he shouted, "Why not!"

Shadow used his foot to kick against the door, he pushed himself back causing the two of them to fall backwards. Shadow's weight on top of his partner caused the blue hedgehog to be knocked out of air when his back thudded the ground.
His grip released when he gasped for breath. With that, Shadow took the moment and escaped.

The ebony hedgehog towered over the blue one who laid weak on his back to the floor with his ears tucked back.
Shadow gave him a firm tone, "You broke your harness. So there is no way I'm going to bring you with me again!"
Sonic turned and raised up to a knee, "you will bring me along," he glared back at Shadow through the corner of his eye.
Shadow raised his voice, "I can't, not this time!"

Sonic rose on his feet and pounced for his partner again. Shadow blocked him, firmly placing a hand against the blue one's chest and shoving his other hand against his peach muzzle.
The two fought and shoved against each other. Sonic scratched at Shadow's cheeks and yanked his ears.

Sonic grabbed his partner's hand and ripped it away from his face. "Take me with you!" He yelled.
"NO!" Shadow used all his strength and kicked his partner off of him.
Sonic stumbled back. He planted his feet and shouted, "Don't leave me alone!"
