READER'S POV

Rumors had spread through the streets of the city from mobians who witnessed the chaotic mess that was left behind from Sonic's actions. Some were onlookers from outside of Tails' shop when Shadow first left Sonic alone with the fox. They saw the blue hedgehog destroy the shop while chasing a panicked fox. Some even glanced through the windows to see Knuckles getting hit with flying wrenches. Everyone began to whisper, and in no time at all word had spread to G.U.N

Soon G.U.N had assigned Rouge to
to spy on the home of the two hedgehogs. She had placed a few hidden cameras to watch their activity. She could view footage of who was leaving and arriving at the home, but G.U.N still needed a spy that could sneak and follow Sonic on a daily basis whenever he was out in public.
G.U.N. needed someone who was close and willing to watch the hedgehog part time.

Someone who could connect the pieces to a mystery as to why the hedgehog was causing mayhem in the city. The federation turned to a local detective agency that needed extra cash to pay for their living. The Chaotix.

They were looking for more detective work to help solve mysteries for the town, so they gladly took the offer from G.U.N to spy on Sonic to try to figure out why his behavior had changed, and to make sure no civilians were majorly harmed by his actions.
Worried for the other members of the team, Espio stepped forward to solely take the job. He could blend into his surroundings, and hide quietly from the hedgehog.

Espio would listen to Shadow's stories every time he came to the bar to vent, and he would close the lounge whenever he heard from Rouge that the pair of hedgehogs would leave their home together. Espio would change his attire and leave his post to spy on Sonic whenever the hedgehog wasn't in the confinement of Shadow's home.

Through the days he would report back to G.U.N about Sonic's behavior. He told them about how the blue hedgehog had assaulted Amy by flipping her dress, how he used the Piko Piko Hammer to nearly break Metal, how he stole merchandise from Creams store, and the time there was a brawl with an echidna in Shadow's home.

G.U.N was concerned how far Sonic would go with his actions and wanted to take him into custody, but without a strong reason, they were not allowed to take him in. Until one incident gave them the excuse to do so. Sonic had never truly injured a Mobian that sent concern, until the fight with Silver.

Espio stood in the lounge serving juice to Silver. He wasn't big on getting alcoholic beverages like others who entered the bar, so Espio would serve him juice or water instead. The chameleon was curious as to why the albino kept loitering in his lounge desperate to break the silence with small talk.

Espio heard a tiny beep, he checked a small device that was hidden in his shirt collar. It was a communicator provided by G.U.N. for Espio to talk back and forth with Rouge on the investigation. Whenever it would beep, that was his notice that Rouge had something to report to him on Sonic.

Espio stepped aside to take the call, "Has the hedgehog gone out?" He asked, speaking close to the device.
Rouge replied him, "Yes. Shadow left Sonic home so there was no worry until we saw him climb out the window and leave on his own. His demeanor seemed more off than before, and he ran quickly into the direction of town. We need you to get yourself ready to watch the hedgehog. He is alone and we are on high alert. Who knows what damage he will do without his partner keeping an eye on him."

Espio reported to the Chaotix that he was having to close the lounge early. He started to clean up his work space in front of a pouting albino hedgehog that was grumpy about having to leave early.
