The next weekend

During the week I had a hard time keeping up with my school, since I had no weekend anymore to use for homework and my friends wanted to go out with me, which I have to refuse lately.

On the fourth day of work, was it much better then the previous two days. But this time, I made an aquaintance with something or someone which I assumed isnt human. Because no one told me what creatures, the so called Hellsing organisation had in their grasp. It happened in a place where you never expect a thing, like a supernatural creature, would be attending ... the library. I was ordered, by Walter ,to clean the shelves and organise the books into the right order. Inside, no one was there, working while no one watches was the best thing for me. Without hesitation, I put my headphones in and turned the music to the highest volume, till I couldnt hear my own voice anymore. What I didnt realise was that someting sat in a large armchair near the windows, it closed the book in its hands and started to watch me. Every move I made was followed, while a massive smile came to its lips.

During my work, not once did I look towards the windows. Out of boredom I started to sing and dance to the tune. I became an entertainment to him without knowing it. It happened as my last song came up. As soon it ended I heard a clapping behind me.I jumped backwards, out of fear, only to make contact with the book shelf. In an instant, ceveral books had dropped down onto my head, which make me whine in pain. But the creature opposite of me seemed to be amused at my actions and gave me a wide smirk followed by a deep chuckle.

Despite his scary smirk he was quite handsome, with his silky black hair, pale skin and manly face, he was a work of art. I didnt realise that this was a dangerous situation, which Sir Integra should have warned me the minute I walked into her office. I picked up the books in silence, too embarrassed to look him in the eyes. He on the other hand stood up from the chair he sat on and began to walk towards me. I jumped once more as his hand came into view. He helped me with the books on the floor, giving them to me. „My apologies, my dear" he spoke with a deep, muscular voice, while keeping the awkward smile in line. It was clear, he waited for an reply. I answered with a quiet mumble „no harm done". Once we have picked up the books from the floor, he went back to the chair and I, back to the cleaning buisness. I mean, come on, that is what I get paid for. We stayed in total silence. For a few hours that is, till he begann to break it, with a simple conversation.

„I never seen you here before" he begann.

„I was recently employed by Sir Integra as a maid... part time". Somehow to tell him that seemed to be important. No matter how hot he might be, I dont want him to get any ideas. I sighted, who am I trying to fool?

„Part time?", he seemed to be puzzled, his undertone made that clear. It sounded like, he never heard something like that before.

„Yes, I work through the entire weekend, including staying the night and during the week, I go to school".

„I see, so I will see you more often then", which wasnt a question,it was more of a fact to him.

But to me, it was a death sentence. What I tried to prevent, becomes reality. I replied with a mumbling „I guess so".

How do I get out of this?

It was hard working in the meantime, since his unnoticed smirk had grown wider, from what i could see. I went behind the bookshelf to keep me out of sight. However, it didnt last long. Sooner or later I had to come out eventually. I took the risk to see if he was still there. Unfortunately... he was. Right now, he has his arms on the armchair while one was supporting his face with his knuckles, legs crossed, while looking pretty excited in my direction.

„Maybe later", I thought and stayed behind the shelves.

His presence made me fell very more time passes, the worse it gets and it didnt stop there. He begann to asking several questions which I answered as brief as possible. Just simple things, like where I come from and such. Unbelievable time flew during the small talk, that I hardly noticed. It was already midnight, my shift was finished for today, which didnt seem to please the man. Especially since I looked eager to get out of the library.

„You are leaving?"

„My work is done for tonight, good night Sir", was the last thing he heard, as I slammed the door shut.

„And a good night to you aswell Mrs. (N/A)"

Outside I leaned against a wall, breathing heavy. Man, he was a pain in the backside, not only did he pester me with his questions, but he also gave me the creeps all night. I had no courage to tell him to shut it. I turned on my heel and went straight to my chamber.

„I hope this doesnt become a regular thing".
