The letter, of course!

He mentioned something of the tapestry. There must be an entrance near it. I placed my hands onto that massive painting before me and moved them around.

A tiny door opened, inside was it dark and dusty. I grabbed a torch and began to go down the stairs, closing the door behind me. In relief, I breathed in and felt at ease to know that I was save for the time being. As someone yelled out from somewhere, I dropped the torch in fear, losing my light to see. If only the yelling would have stopped.

"She isn't here. Find that woman and bring her here!"

Through a hole I could see the man, lying on the bed. He was angry alright, unlike me, someone else has to feel it, as one of his men dragged a maid inside the room.

The man inspected this girl, lust was in his eyes, "She will do for now. Come here girl."

I felt sorry for her, as she was one of the maids of mine and still so young. I couldn't let the man do as he pleases...I got out of my hiding spot. As he was busy to undress the poor thing, I grabbed his sword and attacked him. I didn't hurt him badly, his sword stuck in his chest. He rolled of the girl, this was my sign to grab her wrist and take her to the secret pathway. In hope that he didn't see us, I told the maid to take her own path and I wished her good luck.

Since there were many ways to go, I didn't know which one to take. I had to rely on my instinct and took the way I felt was right. The exit was a hole in the wall, below me...the lake. I tried another path and ended in the cellar. I went back to the first option, ripped off my clothes and jumped.

I stayed under the bridge and waited till no one was around anymore. I must have been luck this time, as the bridge itself got pulled up, trapping all the servants and people of the count inside.

I grabbed a piece of cloth I found lying on a wagon and ran as fast as I could into the woods. I ran without knowing where and for how long, but even so, the screaming and the smell of rotten flesh were following me deeper inside the forest. That is until I reached the end of the woods...standing...on a giant battlefield.

The sky was blood read, so was the ground, covered with dead bodies and splattered blood. Trees that have been burned and heads hanging of them, were now matching the atmosphere...not a soul anywhere. At least I thought so!

In the distance I could see men standing in a row, pulling someone to a platform. I froze at the sight of that person.

"Count..." I whispered.

I hid behind a hill of bodies, watching the scene before me. He didn't show any sign of resistance, he was defeated, physically and mentally. His faith, his honor...all of it was crushed. A tear escaped my eye, as he kneeled down before a massive wooden block, placing his head on it.

"No...Count!!!" I couldn't take this anymore, and ran towards him. His eyes, which were all empty a minute ago, was not filled with fear. For the first time ever, I saw him shed tears. The ax was raised, while he stared at the ground, licking the blood of it. My eyes widened, as I screamed out to him," Count!!!!"
