It took me weeks to restore my old memories.

Thankfully the ones from my dream remained deep within. Alucard made sure that I couldn't forget them; he said that they are precious to us both. The ribbon and the dream was the bond that we both shared.

But ever since that that happened, I came to understand him a lot better now. I used to be a reincarnation to this mistress he used to love and adore. His desires and needs made him act this way, pestering me ever since we met.

But now, he became the dearest in my life.

To prove my loyalty to him, I went out with Seras and Pip. Unlike the police girl who congratulated me, Bernadotte was teasing me constantly and it became worse once I had what I needed. Now was only the No-life-king I need to play along. I found him in my room; he seems to have waited for me.

"Where were you?"

"I was out with Seras and Pip."

I could tell that Alucard wasn't pleased with my decision to go out without him, "You could have told me that."

"Afraid I might leave you?" I teased him.

I regretted that, as I watched him tense up. He frowned and looked out the window, "Don't joke about it...ever." I forgot that he has this concern deep inside him; it is the only thing the count fears the most. His smile returned slightly once I apologized about it. I placed the shopping bags on to the nearest table and headed over to him. He was sitting in one of the chairs at my desk; I climbed on top of his lab and wrapped my arms around it. He returned the favor and held me close.

He chuckled as I began to shower him with kisses, "I would never do this to you...my beloved count."

"Humans change their minds so quickly" he said, not directly to me though.

I couldn't bare the sight of his sadness coming over his face. Now was my chance to prove it to him, "Speaking of which, I have a surprise for you."

"What is it?"

"It's a surprise so don't dare read my mind."

I got the item out of the bag and went over o him. The way he just acted reminded me of an impatient child.

"What is it N/A?" he pushed.

"Be patient a little while longer. Now, close your eyes and don't peak!"

He obeyed. I took his hand and removed his glove; once I remove it I could feel the rough cold skin of his, with a few scars here and there. He tensed at the contact but his eyes remained closed.

"How much longer N/A?" he began to whine now.

"Geez you are worse than a child! Okay, you can look now."

Instead of being excited, he just stared at the thing on his hand, "What is that?"

"Your chain" I said rolling my eyes.

"Chain?"

"Some men see it that way...when they tie themselves to one woman only. But this isn't an engagement ring."

"Why not?" I had to laugh at his response, as it came out blunt and whiny.

"Relax, it is a 'promised ring'. It is the previous ring before an engagement ring. So don't worry, you still have a chance" I winked at him.

"Why are you giving me this?"

"This is my way of proving my commitment to you. I want to make sure that you can trust me."

Suddenly, he snatched the box off my hands and put the other ring on my left hand, "I am honored of receiving such a thoughtful gift of you. I can assure you, that I trust you no matter what."

Once he finished his sentence, the door opened and Mr. Bernadotte entered, "N/A, would you like to go out tonight? We want to celebrate one of my men's day...he became a dad today."

"Of course! I will be there shortly."

With that he left my room. As I was about to get off the count's lab, he pulled me against him.

"What is it?" I asked him.

He frowned, "I come with you."

"Didn't we just discuss the 'trust me 'part?"

"We did and I do trust you...but not him."

I chuckled at him, giving him a peck on to his lips, "You never learn do you?"

He pulled me head towards him, whispering into my ear, "I have hoped god will give me the honor, of being in your arms again, smelling in your sweet scent and give you the love and passion you deserve. I have prayed for the day we will unite again and to give myself completely to you one day."

I rolled my eyes at this, "you know you could have just asked me to sleep with you."

"Where is the fun in that?...tonight?"

I looked into his eyes and touched his face tenderly, "tonight...after the party."

He snorted, "You just have to ruin the moment, do you?"

"Naturally"

He kept his promise and stayed with me till the end of time. I never regret to vow my life to him, as he devoted his undead life to me. He wasn't just my husband at the end, he became a friend, a partner and sometimes...a nightmare.

But I consider myself lucky, since my sweet nightmare...has a name.
