THE NOOBS.
1777, APRIL 04th, MONDAY 8:30 am.
Noche entered the gymnasium to find it wasn't empty. Three soldiers were training in the middle of the room. They wore simple exercise outfits and chatted as they ran laps around the place.
The first was a tall, hairy man with a calm air about him. His brown hair was shaggy and down to his bearded chin and the color matched his eyes. He almost looked like a lumberjack without the flannel on.
The second was a pale guy of average height wth crystal blue eyes and short blonde hair with an energetic aura around him. He seemed a little twitchy but otherwise forgettable.
The last person was a chocolate-skinned girl with straight green hair that went down to her hips. She was a half-hybrid with what appeared to be hummingbird wings. Her buck tooth grin was mischievous and a bit crazed. She had green eyes and wore triangle-framed glasses with the left frame pointing down and the right frame pointing up. Of the three she was the shortest; barely five feet tall.
"I'm telling you, it was a supernatural event," the pale boy said.
"I'm sure there's an explanation for the day of darkness," the tall one replied. "It doesn't mean it was supernatural."
"There was no light and no sound. The sun was gone, fires went out, no flashlights were working, and everything was dead silent even if you screamed," the short girl said. "If that's not supernatural I don't know what is."
"Scientists are still trying to explain what happened," the pale boy said.
"I head that it's because of a doomsday cult," the short girl said.
"One theory is the multiverse overlapped with our reality."
"Maybe it's the end of the world."
"I understand it was scary, but I don't think it's the apocalypse," the tall one said.
"No sight or sound for almost fifteen minutes. They are still calculating the death toll of all the people who died in car crashes, critical surgeries, and other accidents that occurred while everyone was blind and deaf," the pale boy said. "It will easily be in the millions. The world hasn't seen such a disaster since the Planet Lance incident. This might as well be as chaotic as an apocalypse."
The short girl tapped on his shoulder and pointed at Noche. "It seems we have a visitor."
All three of them slowed down to a jog before coming to a stop. There was a moment where they all went pale as they stared at Noche's injuries. It caused her eyebrow to twitch.
"I'm not a ghost, if that's what you're thinking," she snapped.
"Apologies. We didn't mean to stare," the tall boy said. "I'm Fredrick Connors. Who might you be?"
"Noche L. Grim."
"It is nice to meet you, Noche."
"Hiya! Haven't seen you before. I'm Oarson Spirits. Are you new here?" The pale boy asked.
"No, I haven't been here for a while, but I'm familiar with the place."
"And I'm Koli Koli!" The girl with the hummingbird wings lifted up a few feet into the air. "Are you a circle?"
Noche narrowed her one eye. "Noooooo?"
"Then that means you're a square – and I don't hang out with no square."
