MARRIED.

1777, APRIL 13th, WEDNESDAY 5:00 pm.

It had been a full day and a half since Noche talked to Medusa and Mary. She spent that time doing the one thing she had wanted to do more than anything. Noche relaxed. The blonde laid in bed most of the day, watched anime, some videos on the internet, scrolled through countless memes, and even got a videogame called dank souls.

The amount of fun she had was unfathomable. It was incredible – was this what being a normal person was like? Oh man, it was the best. She needed to take breaks more often. Still, this was just a temporary reprieve. Noche intended to resume training as hard as she could after the wedding. It's just... she needed this break. Temporary as it may have been.

Before long it was the hour of the wedding. Noche put on a royal blue dress she had bought the other day, did her hair into an up-knot ponytail, and created some sapphire earrings. It was a similar outfit to what she wore on the day DeathTech declared war. Using Limbo, Noche teleported inside the carnival.

Fortunately, her Limbo powers worked well with her sixth sense. She didn't have to look up the spot or anything, she had an innate understanding of where she wanted to be. Noche felt the location of the carnival and through some mysterious means, she knew it as well as the back of her hand. With a flash of gold surrounded by black mist, Noche had teleported to a place she had never seen before.

It took longer for Noche to find a seat than it did to find the wedding itself. For better or for worse, there was a spot open between Shaylin and Vida. The blind girl grinned at Noche's approach and the ginger gave her a curt nod but didn't say anything. Noche frowned, it seemed Shaylin was still sore at her, not that she blamed her.

Noche sat down and looked around. There weren't too many people here; some were familiar and some weren't. Those three noobs she met were here too. What were their names again? Oarson, Fredrick, and Koli? Of course Tak and Boots were here. Glad she didn't have to sit next to the latter, that would have been awkward.

"We live to find happiness," Shaylin said out of the blue. "The best way to find that is through love."

Noche paused. Was the ginger talking to herself or to the blonde? Shaylin was looking straight ahead, but it felt like the statement was directed at her.

"I haven't had time to think about happiness," Noche whispered. "I've been focused on surviving."

"Is that how you want to live?" Shaylin asked.

The blonde paused. "No."

Music started playing and the crowd grew silent. It gave Noche time to think about Shaylin's words. Love, huh? She wasn't sure how much of that she had in her life right now. Or how much she had in her own heart. Not that there was time to think of such things. Not while Edward still lived.

The blonde closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She didn't want to linger on such negative topics. Not on a day like this. She opened her eyes to Mary walking down the aisle in a tuxedo. The dark-skinned girl stood in front of a Ferris wheel and to her side, at the podium, was Medusa.

So the Cross president was marrying her two friends. How quaint. A smile was on Noche's face as the thought played through her mind. As it did Alice came walking down the aisle in a lovely white dress with purple gemstones near the collar. She stood opposite of Mary and the dark-skinned girl lifted the bride veil off Alice's face.

Noche took it in as the ceremony started and in a matter of minutes, it was time for the vows.

"Mary. I have always been afraid of... Glitching out of your life forever," Alice said. "When we first met, you said we both had similar diseases. Hearing you say that comforted me. Now, all I want out of life is to make you feel the same. To make you feel loved."
