CROSS GRAVEYARD.
1777, APRIL 04th, MONDAY 11:37 am.
Noche and Vida slammed fist after fist into each other as they soared through the skies at Mach speeds – clouds whizzed paced them like bullets. From a distance, the two girls could have been mistaken for a shooting star as they crashed on the ground. The impact sent an earthquake out a few miles wide.
Both stood up in the Cross graveyard. Here, skyscraper-sized statues of all the Cross presidents loomed about. Each one created by the very hands of the person they represented. The Grave brothers, Medusa, Ezekiel, and every single one before them all the way back to when Galloway founded the organization.
As both girls regained their footing the ash-filled skies above grew cloudier and cloudier. The world darkened as storm clouds gathered above. Rain had yet to fall, but lightning was already thundering. Noche summoned her omni-oar.
"Looks like we're far faaaaaar away from any innocent bystanders," Vida smirked. "That's good. I wouldn't want to hurt anyone just because I want something."
"Was that a jab? Fuck you, you blind bitch," Noche spat. "I'm going to kill Creeps and I swear Vida, if you get in my way again—"
"—You'll what? Kill me too?" She laughed. "That's what I want Noche. Besides. If you can't get past me, then you're definitely not strong enough to kill that... What did you call it? Creeps?"
"You don't know?"
Vida shrugged. "I've heard you guys talk about it in hushed whispers once or twice, but I never met the thing... Do you thing it would make a good opponent?"
"Don't you dare," Noche scowled. "Creeps is mine."
Vida cackled. "You know my goal was to get strong enough to die in a legendary battle... Honestly I was starting to get worried I got too strong. To think there is something like that out there... Maybe I'll go fight it instead after I deal with you."
Noche tightened her grip on her sword and scowled. "I warned you."
"Come on then – hurt me. Stab me in the gut, cut open my neck, slice off my arms. I'm ready to have some fun."
The two started to circle each other like a pair of lionesses over a corpse. Noche broke the silence with an instant riptide mid-sword swing — Vida stepped out of the way. The blonde retracted the sword, stuck the tip into stone, and launched herself towards the blind girl.
Her momentum-boosted kick was blocked and the impact caused a shockwave that sent dirt and rock flying everywhere with the force of a shotgun blast. The omni-oar vanished as Noche landed on the ground and unleashed a barrage of punches. Vida grinned as she dodged and blocked each one.
The blonde increased the strength behind each blow. Soon the rock beneath her feet cracked, shockwaves were being sent out with each fist, and some of the statues crumbled. Noche's punches came with enough force to blast holes in the distant mountains — yet they weren't strong enough to break Vida's bones.
She summoned her sword and swung at Vida with all her strength. The blind gurl ducked under the blade and the shockwave from the swing sliced a nearby mountain in half. Two more swings of similar strength decimated that mountain range.
Vida counterattacked — she punched Noche in the face and knocked out a tooth; the blonde was sent flying. She bounced on the ground for miles and miles before summoning her dark sword and slamming it into the ground. By the time she slowed, there was a massive scar in the valley.
