Opening my eyes I was met with an unfamiliar environment. This was not my room. My room didn't have grey walls, white ceilings with a huge glass window. Then I realised it was yesterday I changed my residence.
Staring at the white ceilings, I reminisced about previous day events. Yesterday when I arrived here, I noticed the absence of Leander. Thank god he informed his maid Martha about my stay otherwise I would have made myself a fool in front of her. She is a kind old petite woman who helped me in settling here. Leander has already assigned a guest room for me and everything was arranged when I came here.
I waited till ten for Leander last night so that we can further discuss the arrangements. But he didn't come till midnight that was too intoxicated. Last night I woke up around midnight when I heard a commotion from downstairs and I got scared thinking it was some robbers. But I was stunned to see Leander in this state when I went downstairs. Daniel was struggling to keep a wasted Leander in place. So without thinking I went to help him. With so much struggle we were successful in putting him in bed. As he turned to exit the room he looked at me and said the words which went right through my chest.
" Don't hurt him again please." He said as his eyes pleaded.
It pained me to hear this from him. Daniel and Lean were bestfriends and he knew him inside out. So how do I say it to him that it was never my intention to hurt his bestfriend. With a heavy heart I left to my room not without giving Lean a last look.
Checking the time I realised that it was 8 in the morning and I have to get ready for the day. So without any further delay I went to the washroom to start my day. After taking a quick shower, I changed into my office attire.

Taking my bag and car keys I exited my room praying that I won't face the devil as early in the morning. My work hours don't start from 9 and I have half an hour to get to my office. I hope Leander is still knocked out from all the drinks he has taken yesterday. But my prayers went into vain when I noticed him sitting at the dining table with a cup of coffee in his hands. His eyes were focused on the laptop screen in front of him. Thank God he hasn't noticed me. I tiptoed towards the front door without him noticing me.
" Camilla, where are you going. Come, sit I was about to call you down for breakfast." Martha's voice echoed through the walls of the dining room.
With a deep breath I turned around and my gaze collided with a pair of blue eyes. He shamelessly checked me out and when his eyes focused back on my face, his face went blank.
Martha set the plates in the table while I nervously stood near the dining table without knowing what to do. Leander was gazing me like a prey and it was making me even more nervous.
" Are you going to stand there all day?" He snapped.
Without making him any angry I took a seat opposite to him and started eating my breakfast as fast as possible.
Martha is a wonderful cook I must admit, but I didn't have much time as I have to reach my office before 9.
" After finishing your breakfast, come to the office by 9. I don't like tardiness, so you have exact 20 minutes." Saying that he got up.
" What do you mean by come to the office?" I asked out of curiosity.
Leander abruptly stopped and turned in my direction.
" Did you forget about the contract we signed?" He asked as he raised his left eyebrow. I nodded my head no.
" It's clearly written in the contract that you will be working for me for the next three months. If you had the liberty to even read the contract before signing you would have noticed it." His words pierced through my heart.
" What?" I shouted. I couldn't believe that I agreed to work for him.
He smirked when he noticed my clueless and defeated face.
" Well Ms. Anderson you have already wasted your time. Better hasten yourself and reach the office within the allocated time." With that he left without even waiting for my reply.
I whipped out my phone and searched for the soft copy of the contract which I saved for future use. Disappointed when I read the third page of the contract where it was clearly mentioned that during the contract period I will be working for Leander as his assistant.
My jaw dropped as I read the contents in the contract. I was too enraged at that time to actually read through the contract. What in the world did I end up in.
Furiously, I exited the penthouse and left for Leander's office. I should have looked through the contract before signing. I have been an idiot and should have listened to Destiny's words. But no me being a biggest idiot ended up right in front of the lion.

Thank God I reached his office on time as it was less traffic today. This time the receptionist didn't make an effort to stop me due to our previous encounter.
Entering the elevator , I pressed the button to the top floor where Leander's office is situated. As the elevator started to move upwards I began to take deep breaths and counted to 10 in my mind as my doctor suggested.
Take deep breaths Camilla. Deep breaths.
The doors to the elevator opened at some floor and people began to enter and I move towards the side for them to occupy.
I was still controlling my breaths as a voice interrupted me.
" Hey, are you new here. Never seen you before." It was a guy who probably looked a year or two older than me. He has blonde hair and chocolate brown eyes which were contrasting.
Clearing my throat I replied. " Yeah, I joined today."
" Oh really congrats on your first day. By the way I am Mateo. I am the Finance head. If you have any trouble here you can come to me. I am always available." He said flashing me a smile.
" I am Camilla. Thank you for the offer Mateo." I said with a smile to not to be rude to him.
He exited the lift when he reached his floor not before giving me a best of luck.
My heart beat is racing up as the elevator moves upwards each floor. I brushed my palms on my pants as it was sweating profusely. I don't know why I am feeling so nervous. Maybe because of the fact that I have to see Leander's face for 24 hours for the next 3 months.
The door to the elevator open indicating that I have reached my destination. I took a deep breath to calm my nerves and walked directly into the lion's den.
