A business arrangement forced us together.
His power keeps us tangled.
And every time I try to pull away... I want him even more.

ALESSANDRO
I shouldn't have kissed her.
I knew it the second our mouths broke apart, the second her lip gloss was smeared across mine and my pulse was still hammering behind my ribs like I hadn't just nearly crossed the point of no return.
Because if we continued, there would be no return.
And yet, even now after we pulled away, after I left her in that hotel suite with flushed cheeks and eyes that begged for more. I can still feel the ghost of her breath against my mouth.
She's under my skin.
And it's starting to fucking show.
"Idiota," I mutter to myself, gripping the railing outside the villa balcony, eyes narrowed at the street below. My hands are still shaking. Whether it's from the restraint or the way she looked at me like I owned her, I can't tell.
It's almost ironic. I've stared down gun barrels and betrayed cartels without blinking, but this woman? She's the one making me lose control.
I run a hand through my hair, desperate to focus on anything else. But then, my phone buzzes.
Antonio: "Come outside, we just pulled up."
Perfect.
I turn on my heel and head toward the driveway, slipping back into my suit jacket as I step into the crisp night air. The party's already in motion some exclusive after-party for Amira's brand celebration, tucked in some upscale rooftop spot downtown.
Luca leans against the blacked-out SUV, arms crossed, face unreadable as usual. His suit is immaculate, as if he's not just a mafia Don but a model for Armani's darkest moods. He gives me a curt nod.
"You're late," I say as I approach.
"I'm never late," Luca replies smoothly. "I arrive when I intend to."
Has he always been this cocky? Yes
Antonio's the opposite, hopping out from the passenger seat with a stupid grin already plastered on his face.
"Bro!" he laughs, pulling me into a half-hug. "Finally, some damn good reason to leave America. Heard there was a certain marketing queen in heels throwing another celebration?"
I roll my eyes. "We're here for business."
"Yeah, yeah. And if business comes with a view like her..." he whistles low.
That same strange wave of possession seeps into my pores . I shoot him a look that immediately shuts him up. Luca raises a brow at our exchange, but doesn't say anything. He notices everything.
We walk into the venue, and the place is pulsing with energy. Neon lights, low bass, drinks flowing like waterfalls. There's an open-air section to the rooftop where the crowd thickens, people dancing, laughing—celebrating NAMIRA Cosmetics.
