Patrick opened his eyes to find that he was very much alive and not indeed dead. He was ahead of the blind, who was facing him, his right arm raised in the air, his wrist was rotating in a counter-clockwise motion. The dirt that had collapsed, blocking them in, looked to be moving in reverse. By the expression on the blind man's face, he looked like he was straining to keep the material up, the wooden boards that were the first things to go, floating back up as if going in reverse, all the dirt and other materials.
"Go! Run!" Welt shouted, his voice was straining and his eyes widened, the way they were trying to go was still blocked, but they way they came from was unblocked, so Patrick ran in that direction, Welt glanced over his shoulder, before dropping his arm and chasing after Patrick the roof continued to collapse as they ran. Welt caught up to Patrick with ease, "come on, Patrick, keep going. Come on!" He urged him forwards.
Welt pushed Patrick through the entrance way of the area they were just in, Patrick fell forwards, landing on his jaw, his legs flew up behind him. Due to this, Welt ran directly into his legs and fell too, landing on top of him, he groaned he felt Welt's weight on him.
The blind man pushed himself off of Patrick, who was still quietly groaning, as he got to his feet, "what the hell do we do now?" He asked, looking the blind man up and down, "you got us into this mess!" He pointed at the blind man, anger loosely toning his voice, his eyes wandered the blind man's face.
"Well the alternative would've been death and the one hope for this damn universe would be gone!" Welt shouted back, his voice held fear in it and it was the first time Patrick had heard Welt's voice laced with fear. He'd expected the blind man to be absolutely fearless, "you could've... we could've died! If I didn't interfere with goddamn fate! Fate shouldn't be interfered with, Patrick." His voice was now calm, he was finished shouting at Patrick, falling to the ground on his knees.
"Mr. Matthews- I didn't mean to scream like that."
"It's alright, you were in shock, I knew you didn't mean what you said, I could feel it in the way you spoke those words." Welt sighed, "now look where it got us. Right back in here, we should've never run."
"Mr. Mathews... is there any way for us to climb out that overly large hole that the lovely dragon created?"
"Not safely anyways... I'm too weak to use the other Dreamer, the one that allows me to go wherever I want to, I could take one other person too."
"What was that you did back there?" He asked, looking down at Welt as he adjusted himself on the ground, putting the legs flat and sitting cross legged.
Welt inhaled, before speaking, "I reversed time. Which in turn gave us more time to escape." He explained with a sigh, "I need a smoke to put my mind at ease." He reached into his pocket and pulled a cigarette out.
"So we're just going to sit here then, eh?" He crossed his arms, staring down at the blind man.
The blind man nodded, "yes," he said blankly, his voice held zero emotion.
"But our friends need us. Koda and the Dark Legion could be and probably are closing in on them right now, as you sit here," he uncrossed his arms positioning them on his hips, "smoking!" He raised his voice, still staring down at Welt.
"Well, it isn't our problem right now... we have to figure out a way to get ourselves out of here. Out of this mess." He gestured at the closed exit, "and right now, my head isn't in the right place."
"Then where the hell is it?" He demanded, leaning forwards and sliding his hands down his thighs, "I mean your head has to be somewhere."
"You aren't helping either, you and all your... questions," he took the cigarette from his mouth and held it down in front of him, resting his arms in his lap, "it's just not in the correct space to come up with ideas at the moment."
