In the following days, Welt and Patrick were brought to speak with Luca. The rest of the crew had gone ahead, back to the boat with Cara and her guard who carried the necessary supplies to get the boat up and running again. Astrid was walking again, Welt was nearly fully healed as well as Patrick too after Astrid's initial recovery.
Patrick sat shoulder to shoulder with the blind man in the big office space that he'd never seen before. Bookcases lined the walls, a desk was placed conveniently at the back of the space along with three chairs. Patrick and Welt sat in the chairs on the opposite side of the table from Luca.
Luca sat, leaning forwards his elbows resting on the table, fingers interlocked, "thank you for you and your crew's assistance, I'll give all of you full pardons and the members who were being held here will be set free."
Welt glanced at Patrick then back to Luca, "who's being held here?"
"She didn't tell you?" Welt still held a confused look on his face, "very well, the people of your crew."
"Jesus Christ-" Welt mumbled, "Nova and them?" He shook his head.
Patrick gently touched his forearm, "she couldn't have known the dangers, don't blame her."
Luca looked between both Patrick and Welt, "very well, gentlemen, if you have no further questions or concerns, I'll be on my way out."
"Luca..." Welt called to him as he stood up, "have you ever heard of a group known as the Elite Angels?"
He nodded, looking over his shoulder with a puzzled expression on his face, "it's been many decades since I've heard that name whispered. How do you know it?"
The blind man nodded his head, "I don't know... I heard it from a friend."
"The Elite Angels brought hope to this war stricken planet, Mr. Matthews, then all of a sudden out of nowhere... they just seemingly-" his paused for a moment to gather his thoughts, fiddling with the sleeve of his coat, "disappeared." Luca finished with a sigh.
Welt walked towards Luca, "Perhaps one day, my friend," he glanced at Patrick, "the name Primary Saviors will be known across all worlds as a symbol of hope."
Luca sighed, "that's what you call yourselves then?" He turned his body to face both Patrick and Welt, "no one knows what happened to the Elite Angels, some may assume they're all dead, others might assume they parted ways. No one knows for certain." Luca sighed, his face held a look of displeasure, "a symbol of hope. Or possible death and destruction. You shouldn't have brought it up but now that you have. I'm getting a trip down memory lane."
"As am I." Welt whispered, barely loud enough for Patrick to hear.
"What was that?"
"That was nothing," the blind man cleared his throat, "I just... I don't know... I want to know your theories on what happened to them."
Luca scrunched his brows, "The Elite Angels?" He said, his voice dropped a little bit lower, "geez, Mr. Matthews, uh- okay... I personally think all of them are dead. But there are some who say they are still alive, just operating more secretly. Staying under the radar of people, like a spy or something like that, I believe if they are still alive, my hope for them is that they find peace somewhere... maybe on a distant world," he shrugged, "how can I say? Hm? I'm not one of them."
He began to make his way to the door, "Luca?" Welt called after him, "thank you for believing."
"It's what we all do in the darkest of times, believe. See yourselves out."
"What was that all about, eh?" Patrick asked, looking at the blind man.
"I knew there was something very familiar about this planet." Welt sank into the chair again after turning it around so he would be facing Patrick, "because I was the something that fell from the sky," he scoffed, his lips parted, "I landed here after receiving my Dreamer. I founded and led the group known as the Elite Angels... until like all good things, a bad thing must end them."
