Patrick and Marv fought side by side against the approaching shadows. They were pretty much surrounded on all sides, "what do we do?" Marv asked, his back pressed up against Patrick's.

"We fight until the end. That's what Mr. Matthews would want us to do." Patrick answered and gripped the short sword Mika had given to him before fleeing with Gemma.

He glanced around him for a way out, "Marv! We're trapped!" He exclaimed, raising the sword.

Marv grit his teeth and bang, light exploded around them, Marv shielded his eyes with one hand and proceeded to take Patrick to the ground to protect him too.

When the flashes were over, Marv let Patrick up, "what the hell was that? Divine intervention?"

Marv laughed at his stupidity and hit his back, he looked a little uneasy as he stood, "no... but... it was Jett as it's always close enough whenever she saves us. Look out!" He pushed Paatrick to the side.

"Marv!" Patrick shouted, running after the shadow that just took him, he pulled the sword back ready to strike, instead of hitting his mark, he brought the sword all the way under his arm and when he was about to hit the shadow, slashed across the blob of darkness, a bright green light shined form the blad, with so much force it passed through the shadow and other disappeared when it was far away in the flat area.

Blood dripped from Patrick's nose, Marv was on his feet, "what was that?" He asked, looking at him, "are you okay?" He realized Patrick's nose was bleeding, "that was you, wasn't it?" He pieced the facts together, "barely a scratch for me," he whispered, looking into the air as something flew overhead, "that's a dragon." He pointed out.

It roared as it flew, the roar sounded painful, as if it was in pain, "it sounds like it's in pain." Marv whispered, gripped the hilt of his weapon, explosions of bright light surrounded them, "behind you!" He shouted, trying to grab Patrick's wrist as someone dragged him away.

He was gone, panic filled Marv and he be began to look around, he saw Welt looking around also confused, "Mr. Matthews!" He exclaimed, walking towards him, the walk turned into a jog, "where's Patrick, what happened to him?" He asked half panicked.

"I- I- I don't know." Welt replied, looking at Marv, "did he just like... disappear all of sudden?"

"Yeah- I- I tried to grab his wrist, but I couldn't seem to get a good grip on his wrist. Something crazy happened, Mr. Matthews."

"Shit," the blind man cursed, tucking his gun away, "the crazy thing is we're outnumbered here, Marv. What happened with Patrick."

"You won't believe me but I swear it happened. I was taken by a shadow and all of sudden a green bright slash of light cut through the shadow and I know it was Patrick who did that because his nose started bleeding, one of the symptoms of being new to using your abilities. I just hope safe wherever he is..."

"Me too... there's nothing we can do for him now. He's on his own whenever he may be. "

"Can he defend himself?"

Welt shrugged, "what the hell's happening?" He looked around, "please tell me the shadows aren't disappearing."

"They are disappearing, Mr. Matthews, sorry to not get your hopes up." Marv sighed, crossing his arms, "why are you so concerned about him?"

"Because I-" he began, "we need me to win. To save the entire universe."

Marv nodded, "well... I'll be on the lookout. Who was the other guy? Koda... I believe that's what he said his name was. He also claimed that Patrick was his brother..."
