It was time for the ladies of Embrace to walk the red carpet for the Music Awards. They were nervous but excited while I gave them words of encouragement.

Lydia and Shay were slowly gaining their confidence while Mia always stayed ready for the cameras.

"Come on y'all... this is about to be fun! Oooh, is that Adrien?"

Mia paused, and we all looked at the popular rapper waving to the crowd of fans. His stage name was Waltz, and my girls were huge fans of his.

Mia made her way to the red carpet entrance. Shay and Lydia followed.

I stood to the side while they posed for the cameras. Flashes of light flickered all at once, then I had the girls move along.

Inside the venue was no less chaotic. I showed my I.D. pass to security and watch our names get checked off.

"Backstage is in the D hall, and the auditorium is down this hall to the left. Seats are assigned...you three are in row 5."

"Thank you."

"I have to pee," Lydia said, looking around.

"The bathrooms are in C hall. Come on."

We walked in our heels to the ladies' room. Seeing people that you've watched on TV and sang their songs just casually walking pass never gets old.

All the girls went to use the restroom while I made a few phone calls. Once I hung up, I received a text message from Damien.

"What the heck?"

It was a selfie picture of his first child's mother, Sheila, with him in the background unaware.

She definitely was the one who sent this from his phone. The second pic was him going down on Sheila from her point of view.

Usually, these are the things she and Patricia do towards each other. I'm usually a bystander, watching the messy exchanges.

I was a little confused that Sheila was doing this now. Especially after Damien and I have already broken up.

I chuckled, then began typing.

Aww, you should be gripping the sheets, not holding your phone. Tell him to focus on the clit, Sugafoot.

I pressed send and turned the sound to silent.

"Yo, those chicks are messy," Lydia said, walking out of the restroom.

"Where are Shay and Mia?"

"Exchanging words with some social media influencer..."

I rolled my eyes and went inside. They weren't in each other's faces so that was a good sign.

"You're already making a name for yourself and not in a good way."

The influencer girl looked familiar but I couldn't remember her name.

"Are you still mad about Rashad? You gotta let that go."

Mia washed her hands then dried them as she talked. She was so nonchalant with her exchange.

"Bitch, we're engaged. What do you mean let it go? You're lucky I haven't beat cho ass."

"You're really fighting over community dick?" Mia laughed.

Shay smirked. "Why aren't you mad at him though?"

"I'm not talking to you. Rashad and I have been together for five years and have two kids together. You single females wouldn't understand making a commitment."
