Rowan sat on the balcony outside his bedroom, watching Harmony sleep. He wanted to be inside of her again, but her energy had been drained along with her aura, so he decided to let her rest.

“She’s beautiful.”

A male voice came into his space.

“Yes, she is…”

“I have an assignment for you.”

Rowan looked at Archangel Michael. He got up from the chase lounge and got down on one knee.

“I’m at your service, my leader.”

Michael gave him a nod.

“Numar, is on his last cycle of life and has decided to go out with a bang. He has absolutely no regard for human life and needs to be exiled from earth permanently.”

Rowan wasn’t surprised at Numar’s degeneracy. He has witnessed his behavior first hand and knew he was the main influence for violence amongst children and teenagers.

His thirst for rebellion is attractive to teens who have a curious nature. The curiosity then leads to other things that can usually be fatal or damaging.

“Am I allowed to track his energy?” Rowan asked.

“Yes, but you know the dangers of doing so…”

“I do.”

“Then do as you will. I expect this to be completed before the next solar eclipse.”

“Yes, leader.”

Rowan’s eyes glowed red, causing the archangel to grin. Michael always came to him for the difficult hunts, knowing Rowan would be successful.

Once Michael was gone, Rowan dressed to start his mission. He kissed Harmony on the forehead and covered up the rest of her body with the comforter.

He knew she was worried that he may have gotten her pregnant tonight, but he knew her body wasn’t ready to carry his seed just yet.

There were certain times when a dark angel could impregnate a moon angel, and tonight wasn’t one of those times. Harmony wasn’t in heat and wouldn’t know what it was if it happened. But Rowan would know.

He chuckled to himself, remembering the look on her face after they made love. With no condom in sight, she definitely was burdened.

“You're safe with me, baby.”

Rowan kissed her again, then walked out of the room. He walked down the hall, channeling the spirit world for guidance. His target had to be around humans or their spirits.

Numar feeds off their energies, whether dead or alive.

A black mist formed ahead of him, and he walked right into it. On the other side was a graveyard. It was no longer used with an old house sitting in the distance.

To a normal person, only the sound of crickets would be heard through the night’s darkness. But Rowan could hear whispers all around him.

With black jeans, black boots, and a black hoodie, he slowly walked through the tethered grass and around the tombstones. His human DNA was a magnet for creatures of death.

Someone’s here.

Who is he?

He can help us.

Follow him.

Rowan smiled at the voices of human spirits. He was always patient with them since many didn’t understand that they were deceased.
