When Rowan and Harmony walked through the portal, she gasped at the beautiful night sky. The moon was big and bright, causing Harmony to fall to her knees in amazement.

"R-Rowan, this is unbelievable. It's gorgeous." Her eyes began to water.

"Yeah, just like you."

Harmony looked up at him. Rowan pulled her up onto her feet, then led her down the trail to a sparkling lake. The grass was green, and the trees were black with red leaves.

"What is this place?"

He stood behind Harmony, putting his arms around her.

"My sanctuary...my home...my rest."

"It's so peaceful."

"It's your home too."

"Dark angels and moon angels live together?"

"Not really... but the moon angels like me. So I am always welcomed."

"Why don't they like dark angels?"

"Many moons ago....Moon angels were hunted and treated like lesser beings by my kind. I don't know why, but it happened."

Harmony's eyes showed sadness.

"That's why we were punished, stripped of our abilities, and kicked out of our safe place of leisure and relaxation. Dark angels were sent to earth to live among humans to try and redeem ourselves."

"Oh wow. I assume your kind succeeded."

"Some did, some didn't. Luckily, my bloodline did. This is why I'm welcomed here and still have my abilities."

"I wonder why I don't have any."

"Your half blooded grandmother didn't procreate with another angel."

"My grandmother was a moon angel? How do you know that?"

Rowan placed his hand over her heart. Harmony closed her eyes, and within seconds, she could see her grandmother as a child.

There was a light glow around her great-grandmother...Harmony gasped at the recognition.

"I can see the glow! Oh my goodness."

Rowan smiled at her excitement. He removed his hand as she opened her eyes. She gasped once her vision focused.

"What the..."

Harmony could see a big house where there was none before her eyes had closed.

"I'm losing my mind...that house was not there before."

"It was hidden. Come on."

Rowan took her hand once again and led her inside. It looked like the inside of his home on earth. Harmony began to smile.

"Baby, are we really back in your house?"

"Yes and no."

"Huh?"

"It's another dimension. If someone was in my house on earth right now, they wouldn't see us."

"That is fascinating. Do the others have..." Harmony was interrupted.

"Humans are forbidden here!"

They both looked at the older women with the powerful voice and soft gray wings.

Harmony stepped back, unsure of her safety. Rowan held her hand.

"Hello, Elder Nona. This is Harmony."

***

I should have known my visit to Rowan's other home was too good to be true. Elder Nona was a moon angel of obvious high rank.

Rowan didn't seem threatened or show fear, but her presence shook me a little. Her stare at me was fierce, and I did not feel welcomed.

"It's good to see you, Rowan, but rules are rules. This human should not be here."

"I understand, but she does have moon angel ancestry."

The woman's eyes went back to me in curiosity. She began to walk closer, and I squeezed his hand.

Rowan moved in front of me, and her eyes widened at him blocking her from me.

"What is this?"

"You tell me...are we going to have a problem, Nona?"

"Not at all." Another voice spoke in the distance.

"Detra..." Rowan smiled as he walked towards her, and they hugged.

Her model figure was his height with skin the color of caramel. She had short burgundy curly hair, gray eyes, and a smile that was contagious...Detra was stunning.

"And who is this pretty person?" She smiled at me.

"This is Harmony..."

"Hello, I'm Detra."

"Nice to meet you."

We shook hands, and I reciprocated her smile.

"It's been so long since I've seen you."

"Yeah, it has been. But it's really good to see both of you."

The three of them...Detra, Nona, and Rowan, continued their conversation in his living room. I eventually went upstairs to the bedroom. I was exhausted.

I woke up to the sound of Detra's laughter, and I got up to see what was so funny. Standing back, I watched them interact. It was just Detra and Rowan.

It was giving past lovers energy. My jealousy was rearing its ugly head.

"I really enjoyed the last time we spent together. I've never let anyone touch me after you."

"Really?" He asked.

"Yes, you left your mark on my heart. I've still not recovered and don't want to."

Rowan seemed to be consumed with her...I was beginning to feel like I was intruding.

"Well...things have changed since then."

She stared at him while his eyes looked forward.

"I know, but I can still reminisce..can't I?"

He chuckled. "Sure."

Detra laid her head on his shoulder as they looked into the star sparkling sky. She held onto his arm, and they continued their conversation.

"Why don't you just stay here, Rowan? Earth can not be better than this."

"I like my life on earth and have responsibilities I need to fulfill. I'm also very fond of someone."

"Harmony?"

"Yes."

"But she is not a full-blooded angel. She wouldn't be able to handle you at your full capacity or bear your children."

"I'm not with her for those reasons. I truly adore her and love her company."

She sat up and looked at him. "You're not truly satisfied, Rowan."

"Why do you say that?"

"Cause you would be upstairs making love to her right now, instead of sitting here with me."

At her words, Rowan remained silent, and I went back upstairs.

Maybe I shouldn't overthink what I just saw and heard. But I was feeling very insecure and began doubting everything Rowan has ever said to me.

It was the same stuff with Damien. They always change their tune when what they really want comes along.

Stop fooling yourself, Harmony. It's just a matter of time before your heart gets broken.

Some time went by, and Rowan still had not come upstairs. My mind was made up.

Once I'm back home, I plan to never come back to this place again and to end things with him.

Being by myself was better for me.
