STUCK

Damien was the last person I wanted to see. It was obvious my parents talked to him prior to me waking up. My mother never got his name right before.

He sat the huge bouquet of flowers on the side table. He greeted my parents, and I cringe at them all smiling like he's such a catch.

"How are you feeling, baby?" He asked.

"What are you doing here?"

My mother interrupted. "Be nice, Harmony. This young man is nice enough to cover your hospital bill."

Being that I was fired, I guess I could show some gratitude...but not right now.

"Did you see what they wrote about me?"

"Yeah, but I wouldn't worry about it. It'll die down..."

My eyes watered. "I lost my job and can't even go home because of what they said about me."

Damien sat next to the bed and held my hand.

"I'm sorry this is happening to you, and you know I got ya back. I'll get you an attorney, and we'll sort things out."

His words didn't give me any relief.

"We're going to go home, and we'll be back tomorrow."

My parents gave me hugs and left me alone with the one person I dreaded seeing.

"I need my name cleared, Damien. Everything said about me is a lie."

"Not everything."

"What do you mean?"

"The video is real."

"You're fucking lying."

Damien took out his phone and played the video. We were in his kitchen and he was fucking me from behind. I remember that was the first time we had sex together.

At the time, I didn't know that he had surveillance cameras everywhere. But when I realized he did...Damien told me the recordings are taped over every seven days.

"Why do you still have this?"

"It's nice to reminisce. Especially since I haven't had the real thing in a while."
He touched my cheek and I pulled away.

"Did you give this video to them?"

"Not yet."

His words made my heart break. It's like he really doesn't care what happens to me.

"I will keep this to myself as long as you cooperate."

Damien wiped my tears. I felt sick to my stomach.

"No more Rowan Vidal and you continue your contract with Royal Records."

I couldn't believe I was being blackmailed.

My mind was on Harmony along with finishing my task concerning Numar.

The few times I called her it went straight to voicemail. That definitely isn't her normal.

Harmony, are you okay?

I didn't get a response.

My mind was playing tricks on me and I needed to do something to get my thoughts back in order. The last thing I want to do is act on impulse when it comes to Harmony.

I went to my hotel room and prepared my portal to look for Numar. He's in some random hood, roaming an abandoned church.

The people staying in there were drug addicts which means the demons were going to be abundant. I walked in through the back door, and the smell of waste hit me immediately.

"Numar, don't make this difficult."

A few addicts were oblivious to my presence while one was already dead...obvious overdose.

"Hey, Charlie...wake up." The addict pushed the corpse.

Through the feces smell, Numar's scent was very strong. He was growing stronger being around all of this death and sorrow.

He was trying to blend in, but I grabbed his neck before he could run.

"Hello, friend. Long time no see."

He already looked high, but his strength didn't falter as he swung his fist. He hit my jaw, and now I was irritated.

I slapped him, causing his body to hit the wall. The dent made it crumble to the floor.

Numar slowly got up, realizing his drug high made him think he was stronger than me. The other addicts ran away from him.

"Wait! Wait!"

Before he could plead his case, my hand touched his forehead. He was quickly burned into ashes.

"Are-Are you Jesus?" An older man asked.

I smiled. "No."

The portal formed, and I walked through.

After I boarded the private jet, the entertainment news was playing on the flat screen. Ten minutes in, Harmony and I are being discussed as todays 'hot tea'.

I'm sure she's probably seen this, and I don't believe shit they're saying about her. The whole pass-around gossip about Harmony was definitely made up and fed to the media.

I'm on my way back. Let me know you're ok.

I texted her, then went to sleep for the rest of the plane ride. We landed, and I still didn't get a response from her.

My car was parked at the port, and I loaded my bags in the trunk. I didn't sense that Harmony's energy was off, but I was still worried.

My phone buzzed. It was my brother.

"What's up, Rodney?"

"Why did you tell Pete that Tara is pregnant by me?"

"Cause she is..."

"No she's not, Row."

"You're denying the baby but not the fucking her part."

There was a pause.

"Listen, little bro. I'm not mad at you. I wish you were more careful but this is a lesson you'll have to learn on your own."

"I didn't plan for this to happen, Row. I would never intentionally hurt you."

My brother was trying not to cry.

"I know you wouldn't. You're just young, dumb and full of cum."

"So...what now?"

"Well, it depends on what the DNA test says. You have a few months to get your mind right."

"Row, I really am sorry about all of this...I really fucked up."

I smiled because my brother's heart is genuine and I was going to have his back regardless.

"It's okay...everything is going to be...."

POP! POP! POP! POP!

I dropped my phone mid-sentence as I swerved from bullets hitting my car and cracking my windshield.

My foot pressed on the gas and the gunfire continued.
