Nikki's POV:

I dragged my brother's body through the sand, the moonlight reflecting on us. His skin was as pale as a ghost and his eyes were a dull brown. There was a deep, round wound planted on his forehead, where the bullet had gone through when he had gotten shot and died. He wore the same clothes as he did when he had died. "They really didn't respect you, huh?" I said quietly as I dropped his arms onto the sand. My stomach sank more and more the more I looked at his body.

I had dug up my brother's grave that night and taken out his body. Would my spell even work? I knew it I just . . . have never performed it before like Ms. Windward, who was practically an expert on resurrecting people. I had no one to resurrect because there was no one good to resurrect. This would be my first time resurrecting someone and I hope it goes well . . . I hope I'm not making a mistake.

I grabbed the spell book that I had set down on the sand. I had disguised it as a fantasy book in the Juniper kingdom Library. I had said it was my favorite fantasy book and that no one is to touch it since I didn't want it 'ruined'. I flipped through the pages until I found the right one.

RESURRECTION

Hands of lilac

Bring back this live

And make them come back

Ravens dive

And spirits strive

Now go to the pit

And make the dead come alive

I sighed. "You can do this . . . ," I mumbled to myself, soon starting to speak. It went quiet for a few moments, not even the sounds of crickets to be heard. My brothers dimmed, brown eyes then seemed to have life again. His ghostly pale skin returned to normal and his entire body began to glow purple . . .

"Lucas?"
