Evelyn's POV:
I gasped. How could Lucas even be here? He was supposed to be dead! He was shot in the head, there is no possible way he could've survived. So, Lucas was the one who tried to drown Jef. Lucas was the one who bombed the kingdoms. Without Mrs. Windward, many would be dead, . . . including my children. How dare he try to murder them, and for what! Anger surged through me. Would this war ever end?
"You!" I shouted. "You were the one who bombed the kingdoms!" Lucas nodded. Why was he being so open with this all? Why would he admit he had been the one who bombed the kingdoms? Why did he even bomb the Woodland? "Why did you do it?" Good asked, anger in his voice but also curiosity. Lucas seemed to tense. He looked angry or annoyed. He opened his mouth to speak. "I did it for Jschlatt. He was one of my close friends, and we spoke more when we were dead," Lucas admitted. Of course, Jschlatt had something to do with this too! He always has something to do with something going wrong!
"You spoke with Jschlatt more, in hell, correct? I mean, why would you and him be going to heaven," said Andrew, crossing his arms. Lucas rolled his eyes. "Yes, we did." Suddenly, the anger seemed to leave Lucas, his face going blank until he smirked. "You might be wondering how I'm even here, ay? I mean, Ms. Stillberry is dead, so she couldn't have brought me back." Lucas must've been resurrected by somebody. Mrs. Windward is the only living person we know of that knows how to resurrect someone! Unless, . . . there's another witch that we don't know about.
"My plan would have succeeded, to successfully bomb the Woodland, that is if that stupid witch didn't resurrect all of you. Now, they are rebuilding it too!" Lucas said, clearly referring to Mrs. Windward as the 'stupid witch'. "You should all be dead right now!" he shouted. "When I find that crippled old grandma, I'm going—" Good cut Lucas off. "You're not going to do anything to her," he growled. Mrs. Windward was one of our friends, and we would forever be in her debt for all that she's done for us.
Lucas crossed his arms, glaring at us. "Oh really? And how do you plan to stop me?" he replied. "I know she's got to be staying somewhere in Greenland since the Woodland isn't fully built yet. I'll find her and I'll kill her, and eventually, you all too," Lucas threatened. I grabbed one of those oddly-shaped glass bottles off the table pressed up against the cave wall, pushing through the group. I lifted my arm to throw it at Lucas, but Nikki quickly shoved my arm down before I could do so. "Stop!" she shouted, moving in front of Lucas. Lucas chuckled, the smirk coming back.
"Nikki! What are you doing!" I shouted. She hesitated before speaking. "H—He . . . he's my brother."
