"You lift, bro?" Jordan asked jokingly.
I rolled my eyes. "Shut up. I didn't call you so you could make fun of me."
"Tay, focus on the fucking barbell," Jenna said. I looked up into her eyes and got that warm smile in response.
"I'm done for the day."
Jenna shrugged and helped me lift the barbell back into its resting position before starting to sit up. She leaned over me before I could get up all the way and kissed me. I smiled, and then she pulled away.
"You sure you want to leave?" she asked.
I let out a giggle. "I'm not so sure anymore."
Jordan groaned. "I need food."
"Fine." Jenna smiled at me as I climbed off the bench press, only to be wrapped up in her arms. "What're you doing? I have to go."
"Well... Okay, so my friend Lynn asked me earlier if I wanted to bring a date to have dinner with her and her girlfriend Alexa..." I bit my lip and smiled slightly. "Would you want to be my date?"
I grinned. "Yes. Yes, of course. Yes." She chuckled and pecked my lips. I still wasn't used to the feeling kissing her gave me. "Yeah..."
Jenna laughed again. "You should go, if you really have to."
I groaned and kissed her again. "What time is dinner?"
"Six-thirty. I'll come pick you up."
"Should I dress fancy? Like, dress, makeup, do my hair-"
"None of that. Don't do any of that. You don't need any of that anyway. Especially not makeup. Wear what you want." Then she leaned down and kissed me before walking away.
I turned around to grab my stuff and Jordan furrowed his eyebrows at me. "Since when were you and Jenna an actual thing?"
I bit my lip. "Well...I don't know. We're not really dating-"
"She's taking you on a date tonight."
I stopped talking before switching my feet awkwardly. "It's one time, Jordan."
"Whatever." He raised his hands in defense. "You ready to go?"
I nodded and turned to see Jenna talking to a customer from behind the desk. She looked up at me and waved, so I waved back with a smile.
Jordan and I went to lunch at the Cafe 50s diner Jenna had taken me to. Krysta wasn't working today, which I was thankful for. I wasn't looking forward to her comments about Jenna. We got cheeseburgers and pop, and then we just sat there talking.
"So, how's working out with Jenna been going?" he asked, taking a drink.
"Good," I said. "We've been getting less done the past couple days though. And sometimes, if we can, she teaches me some dance stuff. She says it's good for your legs, and your core."
He nodded. "So you guys are actually a thing now? For how long?"
I shrugged. "We've, um..." I cleared my throat and Jordan gave me an amused smile. "Yeah, um...yeah."
He laughed. "So you fucked?"
"Sure...if that's how you want to put it."
"It's Jenna. It's not like you were making love."
I sighed and nodded. He was right, but that wasn't what I meant. I just didn't like saying, "Hey, we fucked!" A large part of me wanted to be more than just casual fucking.
