"Best two out of three!" I yelled, and Ashley groaned.

"I won! Fair and square!" she yelled.

"Best two out of three!"

"Fine. Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!"

"FUCK!"

"Tay, stop going for paper and you'll win," someone said. I looked over to see Jenna and Nicki walking in, and Ashley and I both smiled their way.

"Hey," I giggled as Jenna pulled me into a kiss. She forced a small smile.

"Hey, babe, I have some bad news." I looked at her with a worried face.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?"

"Yeah... The doctors told me something about Courtney, and they said it'd be best for me to go up and see her now if I wanted to see her. So I can't take you out tonight..."

"Oh, okay..." I shoved my hands in the back pockets of my jeans. "I understand."

"Maybe we can go out soon? I'll make it up, I promise."

"You don't have to. Just do what you have to and... I'll be here." I smiled up at her and she nodded.

"Alright... You sure it's okay?"

"Babe, she needs you. Just...if you need anything, I'm here."

She smiled. "God, you're amazing. Nicki's gonna drop me off at the hospital in a couple hours... How long do you have to stay here to clean up?"

"About an hour or so. Why?"

"Well, when you're done, would you wanna maybe just spend some time together before I go up there? I know it wouldn't be anywhere near as magical as the night I had planned, but I'll take any time with you that I can."

I bit my lip. "You're too sweet."

"I say the same for you." She leant down and kissed my cheek. "What time do you think you'll get off work?"

I looked up at the clock. "About a half hour, maybe?"

"Okay. Just call me when you're done and I'll come pick you up."

I smiled and pecked her cheek. "I'll see you then."

"I love you."

"I...I love you too." The words kind of flowed from my lips without really thinking about it. I wasn't so sure if I was truly in love with her, but I did love her. I loved her a whole lot.

Jenna grinned before kissing me. "Bye."

I smiled and gave a wave as Jenna walked out with Nicki, who'd been chatting it up with Ashley. When they drove away, I took to cleaning up a little. Ashley grabbed her things from the back and walked up to the counter.

"Hey, I'm gonna get going," she said. "Are you okay here?"

I looked up and nodded. "Yeah, I just have to clean and lock everything up. Hey, drive home safe."

"Will do. I'll see you tomorrow." She walked over and hugged me before leaving.

The amount of shoe boxes on the floor was ridiculous. When I'd set a box on top with the others, it'd take them all down with it. So by the end of trying to put one box away, I'd be left with a pile of Vans or something.

As I finally re-stacked the shoes, the bell by the front door opened. I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Sorry, we're closed," I called.

"I knew you worked here."

I looked up and quickly backed away. "Why're you here?"

"Heard you and Jenna are still together? Cute. You know, she told me the other day that you said you didn't want me and her fucking anymore. Did she ever say anything else about that? Like, assuring you we were over?"

I stared at her, trying to ignore her. She was talking to simply get into my head and the last thing I wanted was to let her win. But now I was curious, since Jenna had said nothing to me about Lynn after she said she'd break it off.

"I've got your attention now, don't I?" Lynn asked with a laugh. "Yeah, well maybe the reason she didn't say anything is because we fucked the next day."

I swallowed. "You're lying."

"Am I?" She titled her head to the side. "She dropped you off at work and showed up at my apartment. Alexa had gone to visit family that morning so I had the place to myself. Oh, yeah it was great. Everywhere in the apartment, even in the bed Alexa and I sleep in together almost every night. It felt wrong, it was wrong, but it felt amazing... I'm sure you know how it feels to fuck Jenna. I know you two weren't actually dating the other night when we first met. God, the way she looked at just about everyone gave that away, Tay."

I was so uncomfortable. I didn't know if she was telling the truth or not, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to know the answer.

"What do you want from me?" I practically choked out. "Did you just come here to freak me out? And cause relationship problems? Because you're basically succeeding, so what more do you want from me?"

Lynn smirked. "I don't think there's much else I want than to upset you. I can tell a part of you still doesn't believe me... So how about this?" She reached into her bag and pulled out a bottle of perfume. "This is what I wear all the time. When Jenna and I first met, she commented about how it was her favorite perfume smell... She usually doesn't notice it unless we have sex, and then she still smells it for a couple days."

I furrowed my eyebrows as she removed the cap and sprayed a little on me. "When Jenna comes to pick you up, see if she notices. If she does, I guess that tells you, right?"

"Or she just notices things about her friends," I mumbled.

Lynn rolled her eyes with a laugh. "You're so naive it's almost cute. Jenna can say she's in love with you, but she loves her sporadic nights of fucking with random girls. And you know she'll come back to me at some point."

I stood in silence as she walked away from me, the door sliding shut as I sighed. Now I smelled like Lynn's stupid perfume and surrounded in boxes of shoes. It didn't seem like very long until Jenna showed up, and I forgot that I was supposed to call her when I was done cleaning up.

"Hey, baby," she greeted. I forced a smile as she moved closer to me. Panic was rising in me as she stepped even closer. My heart was pounding in my chest.

"Hey," I replied. She kissed me and wrapped her arms around my waist. When she buried her face in my neck, her body tensed. That was when I seemed to stop breathing. She noticed something.

"New perfume?" she asked, pulling away with a confused look.

I swallowed and forced myself to nod. "Yeah."

"I like it. That's my favorite."

"Yeah...I figured." She smiled and went to grab my hand, but I jerked it back. "I have to get my stuff."

She seemed worried, but nodded. I wasn't in the mood for my girlfriend's crazy ex to be correct about them sleeping together. I wasn't in the mood for Jenna to be noticing Lynn's perfume.

As I was grabbing my purse, I couldn't help but feel that I had been lied to. Jenna told me she would end it, but she didn't immediately and that made me not want to trust her as much as I did before.

"Hey, are you okay?" Jenna asked from the other side of the counter.

"Yeah... I'm fine. What do you wanna do?"
