Let's say the only reason I was even daring to flirt with Jenna was because she and Courtney were in an off period. Honestly, Courtney scared me, so if they were on I would have followed her wishes to stay away from Jenna.
"Dancing is actually a really good workout," Jenna said.
I stopped doing my crunches. "I don't dance."
Jenna mimicked me in stopping. "I could teach you. It's really just counting your steps."
I brought my arms down from behind my head. "Is it better than a lot of workouts?"
She shrugged. "It's good for your legs and core. Plus, you can have a lot of fun while doing it."
I smiled. "That doesn't sound too bad."
Jenna lifted herself off the floor and pulled me up with her. I could see Courtney wanting to say something, but she didn't. Just stood behind the desk and glared at Jenna.
"We're gonna go get lunch," Jenna said to her. "If Hayley shows up, just let her know, would you?" Courtney scowled. "Thanks, doll."
I felt so awkward. Jordan was right; they basically hated each other when they were in an off period. The brunette glared at me as Jenna left to change. Eventually I figured I'd do the same.
We left not long afterwards. Jenna had put on a t-shirt and a pair of cargo shorts, and a backwards baseball cap. I had to say she looked really adorable.
Jenna led me around the corner to this diner that appeared to be specially decorated to look like an old '50s diner. She smiled at me, and I gave a confused look. Then she just led me inside.
We took a seat at one of the red leather booths by the window, and Jenna rested her arms on the chrome-plated table with a smile. The waitress walked over, chomping her gum carelessly.
"Welcome to Cafe 50's," she said in a bored voice. "What would you like to drink?"
"Just some water, please," Jenna said with that gorgeous smile.
"Mmkay. And for you?"
"Uh, just a water."
"Mmkay. My name's Krysta, I'll be your server for today. Anything you need, you come and tell me." Then she looked up from her notepad. Her entire expression changed when she looked at Jenna. "Jenna?"
Jenna made a scared face before forcing a smile. "Hey...how's your mum?"
"How's my mom? You hit her with your car!"
"I didn't see her!"
"She was right in front of you! And then you never called me again."
"At least the sex was great."
"Wow, it's been months and you haven't fucking changed. I'll go get your water."
Jenna rolled her eyes as Krysta angrily walked off. Though I was kind of laughing on the inside about the car incident. It was like something out of a movie.
"Sorry about her," she apologized. "She's still upset about some things."
"Like you hitting her mom with a car?"
"I swear to god she wasn't there when I started the car."
I let out a small laugh. "Sure. So what happened between you two?"
Jenna started to say something but then stopped. Then tried again. "We, uh, went on, like, two dates. And she just got clingy and I don't like clingy. I'm not good with clingy. I don't do...clingy."
