the story lines starting to get somewhere so yayayayay (BTW CALLS IN THIS PART ARE GONNA BE BOLDED BUT YOU'LL PROBABLY FIGURE THAT OUT ANYWAY LOL)
Oh god. Oh god oh god oh god. One day. One fucking day. Thats all the time he gave me to prepare? Shit. If I were a 15 year old girl I'd probably be screaming 'fuck my life' right now. But I'm not, so instead I'm panicking. After I hung up the phone, I slipped on a pair of kaki shorts and a white shirt along with a pair of mint green Vans. Although I wasn't working, I still needed to look presentable at the hotel when I wasn't in my room. I quickly ran a brush through my hair a brushed my teeth before bolting down the stairs and out the door. I locked it behind me and rushed into the elevator. Being alone in the elevator gave me time to think about what had just happened.
"Hello?"
"Hello Kellin."
"Hi dad."
"How are you?"
"I'm fine, thank you. How are you?" I said, while sitting on the edge of the bed. This was the way that all of our conversations started.
"I've been better." He answered in a monotone voice. "My back has been acting up again."
"That's unfortunate."
"Very. I was just calling to check up on the hotel. I'm assuming everything is running smoothly?" I let out a quiet sigh of relief. I was glad to know he wanted to check up on the hotel.
"There was an incident last night. A chef was injured, but I handled it."
I heard him 'tsk' through the phone, and I rolled my eyes, fortunate that he couldn't see me.
"If that's everything, I have some work to get to-" I lied. He cut me off mid sentence.
"I'm assuming that you have set up my room already." What?
"Umhh- I"
"Don't stutter Kellin." he scolded. "I didn't get you a speech therapist for nothing."
"Sorry dad. Excuse me, but can you repeat that?"
"Are your ears damaged too? I said 'I didn't get you a-'" I cut him off.
"No before that." I said, leaning forward to rest my elbows on my knees. I heard him mutter something along the lines of "It's rude to interrupt".
"I said, I'm assuming that you have my room ready already? I expect it to be in prime shape by the time I arrive on tomorrow." I choked on air. I let out a large cough and he muttered "Don't tell me that the damn boy's lung is broken as well."
After I composed myself again, I spoke.
"Of course dad." I said, my voice quivering. "You'd like the same room as always?"
"What type of absurd question is that Kellin? Of course I want the same room."
"Yes, okay dad. I shouldn't had asked. I have to go now. Okay? I'll see you on friday. I'll send a limo to get you from te airport, just send me your arrival time. Goodbye." I hung up before he could protest.
I sighed as the elevator dinged as it reached the main floor. I hurried out, and ran nearly ran into someone.
"Specs!"
"Shit! I forgot my glasses!"
I spun around and ran back into the elevator, Vic following close behind. I pressed the elevator to the top floor and anxiously leaned back against the wall. I viscously tapped my foot against the ground as Vic stared at me.
