I yawned, stretching my arms out and lightly scratching my head. I turned off my alarm, and perched up on my elbows, turning on the light. I hissed and put a hand over my eyes, the sudden burst of light hurting my eyes.
5:01 AM
Perfect, that would give me just enough time to get ready before starting another long day. I shuffled into the bathroom, my socks running against the floor as I scratched my side. I quickly stripped and hopped into the shower, letting the refreshing water wake me up. After I was done, I got out and wrapped a towel around my waist before finishing up in the bathroom and getting dressed. I wore my usually attire, a suit with slick black shoes, and a nice crisp tie. I grabbed an apple out of my small fridge before getting on my way. I walked briskly out of my room, and into the large hallway, which I shared with only the most exclusive guests. I preferred to live in my hotel. I didn't have to commute, and plus I would always be ready in case an emergency ever occurred.
I walked down the hall, making my way towards the elevator when someone suddenly came out of a room, ran into me, and caused me to drop my apple.
"Fuck, I... Shit..." They muttered before shoving past me and running to the stairwell. How rude. They didn't even bother to apologize! The nerve of some people!
I picked up the rest of my apple, which unfortunately I would not be consuming. The part of the apple where I had already bitten it had landed directly on the custom carpets of my hotels fine floors, and although I didn't doubt the sanitation of the floor, I wasn't one to take chances.
After traveling from the top floor to the lobby, I finally arrived downstairs, I tossed my apple in the trash before heading into my office. I sat down and logged into my computer, starting the day off right. I sorted through emails questioning about the hotel, and even directed a few people to room service who had mistakenly called my office number asking what was on today's breakfast menu. By the time 7am rolled around, I had only just started to put a dent in today's workload.
Suddenly the phone rang, which startled me. Usually all the bookings and questions were sent to the reception desk. My office phone was for emergencies, special circumstances and for employees to call me. I picked up the phone and answered as politely as I could for seven in the morning. I could get up early, but that didnt neccesarily mean I was a morning person.
"Hello, Mr. Quinn speaking."
"Oh hello. I'm calling about my son, he was supposed to get in yesterday. He has an extended stay booked for one of the penthouse rooms. I just wanted to see if he was checked in and settled. He has a tendancy of not checking in with my husband and I."
"May I have a name miss? Just to check to see if your son has checked in already."
"The room should be under Fuentes." the woman replied.
I quickly searched uo the name on my desktop.
"Victor Fuentes," I paused for a moment, pusing my glasses up the bridge of my nose. "Checked in yesterday afternoon at 2:35pm"
"Oh, okay, great. I thought he'd have gotten there earlier, but I suppose that doesn't matter. Maybe the cab got caught in traffic on the way from the airport, or maybe he tried riding his skateboard there. But I dont see how that would work with a suitcase..." she trailed off. "Anyways, thank you Mr. Quinn. Hopefully my son will enjoy his stay."
"You're welcome, and I'm sure he will, Ms. Fuentes." I said, hoping that she shared the same last name as her son. We exchanged a brief goodbye before I hung up the phone and began work on my computer again. After a few hours of replying to business inquiry emails and ordering food to be shipped into our kitchen, my stomach decided to make a loud growling noise.
I guess half an apple isnt enough to get me through the day.
I hummed a familiar tune to myself as I strolled out of my office.
"Do I hear Fall Out Boy, or am I just imagining things." Someone called from behind me.
I turned around to see the same boy who had bumped into me yesterday.
"Specs!" He said rather loudly, and I was thankful that there werent many people around to hear him say it. I found the name slightly insulting.
"Theres no way in hell I would've guessed it was you humming. Although I should have, because no one else would wear a suit like that."
"Excuse me?" I said, getting a little bit agitated.
Ignoring my question, he continued talking.
"So you obviously know some of the older stuff, since you seemed to really be getting into Sugar We're Going Down back there but like, whats your favourite album?"
"Save Rock and Roll." My mouth spit out quickly.
"I like Folie à Duex a lot." He replied before leaning back in his chair. "I'm Vic, by the way." he said.
"Mr. Quinn." I answered.
"Okay Kellin." He kicked one leg over the other.
"How did you kn-"
"I googled yor hotel because I wanted to see where the fuck I was staying." A small frown appeared on my face when he swore. I wasn't against swearing. Hell, I swore all the time. But I found it disreputable when there was too much of it going on in the public areas of my hotel. "Like a hundred pictures of you show up when you type 'The Golden Rose Hotel and Resort' into the search bar. It wasn too hard to find our what your first name is."
"When did you-" I began to say.
"Dude chill, I'm not stalking you." He laughed "Last night I just searched it up."
"I'd perfer it if you called me Mr. Quinn, Vic." I said.
"Sure thing, Specs." He said before standing up and begining to walk away, humming Fall Out Boy as he went.
Hopefully over the march break I'll be able to update much more for all my stories and myabe make the updates longer too because i finally have time lol
