Theo's POV
It has been a few hours since Savannah started sleeping her best sleep. Whereas I've been lying on the bed, lifeless, like the whole world has stopped around me.
Eventually, I decide to head towards the living room. There, I start going through the notes on my phone that have the details of the proposal. I'm grateful that I know the type of person she is now. At least she's not my fiancé or wife.
I begin calling up the companies that I used for the arrangements. Unexpectedly, they all answered at this time. While some were nice and offered a refund straight away, others were proving to be difficult as it was short notice. That was until I put an act on and told them that my girlfriend had died, then they were happy to give me one. It's not even about the money. I just don't want to spend any more on her than I already have.
A few more energy drinks later, I called Vincent, who was surprisingly awake. I asked if he could watch Emilia and tell me when she is next alone so I can 'accidentally' bump into her. That's when he told me that her stay ends in three days. That'll be a perfect opportunity to leave Savannah for good. I also asked if he could open the hotel gym for me, which he agreed to and ended up joining me.
Going to the gym was a good idea. It helped relieve something, and seeing Vincent work out was impressive. He's a lot stronger than he looks and very competitive. He made the air feel less depressing with his workout challenges. Even though he knew the situation about Savannah and Emilia, he didn't ask once about it. He didn't press for information. He was just there for the moment, which I appreciated.
As we're packing our things to leave the gym, I turn to face him with Savannah's engagement ring box in my hand. "I know that you know the good jewellers around here. If you don't mind, could you sell this for me?" I ask, trying to hide any emotion in my voice.
Vincent nods as he takes the box from me. When he opens it, he admires the ring. "I won't have any trouble finding a buyer for this. What price are you looking for?" He asks, his tone gentle yet businesslike.
"Well, I paid around 150, so whatevers the equivalent of that."
"Do you want it in cash?" He offers.
I think about it and then shake my head. "No, can you just send it to my account?"
"Yeah, sure, I'll get that done for you." He starts to type on his phone.
"Thanks." I murmur, my gaze fixated on the ring box in his hand. Why isn't he closing the box? Can't he just put it away already? I don't want to see it. I start to get irritated, thinking about the effort I put into this ring to make it perfect for Savannah. What a fucking waste of time. I still can't fucking believe she did this to me.
"Why do you cheat on your wife?" I blurt out to Vincent.
His brows raise for a moment at my unexpected question. "Uh, I don't cheat on my wife." He replies with slight defence.
I scoff as I shake my head. "Just because you don't stick it in doesn't mean you're not cheating."
He releases a sigh when he realises where I'm coming from, then carefully places his phone and the ring box in his pocket. "Look, son, I know it might not seem like it, but I am very transparent with my wife and-"
I cut him off. "So she knows you're feeling up naked girls?" I ask, remembering he had those half naked girls at his bar.
He nods yes slowly.
I react with disbelief. "What? Nah, I don't believe that."
"It's true. She understands." He responds calmly.
