Theo's POV
Dom is staring me down as he waits for an answer about why Lorena and I have been out so late.
I know I can't bullshit my way through this completely, so I start with a bit of truth. "She was at a party and asked me to pick her up." I say casually.
"You left around an hour ago. What took so long?"
"I went on a drive. Then, halfway through, I got her text."
"Why did she ask you to get her?" He questions with a slightly blunt tone, adding a bit of tension between us.
"How can she ask you?" I reply, mirroring his tone.
"My dad exists."
"Your dad has a problem with her too. I was going to ask you about that anyway. Why tell him that she confronted you?"
"What?" He asks in confusion, fixing his tone.
"Your parents are giving her the silent treatment because you told them she tried to break you and Emilia up."
"Huh? No, I didn't. Am I a bitch to be doing that?"
I relax and return my tone to normal. "Not going to lie to you, man, I thought the same."
"I don't know why they're giving her the silent treatment. They don't even know anything. Lorena has it wrong."
"I don't know then." After a brief pause, I decide to say something risky. "If I'm going to be real with you, I don't understand why you have an issue with her. She thought you were cheating, so the right thing to do is call you out and tell Emilia."
He lets out a heavy sigh, running a hand through his hair. "Obviously, I know that man. I just got defensive in the moment, which was wrong. I have no problem with her. I know it might not look like it, but I care about her."
Even though he lies a lot, I believe him on this. "Well, I think you should talk to her. Clear the air about it because it's dragging on for too long now, and I can't be bothered giving her rides."
He smiles. "I will. Oh, also, are you free next Saturday? There's going to be this big car meet, and I think we should go."
"Yeah, I'll go. Do you have a fake plate?"
A mischievous look forms on his face as he catches my drift. "No, but I'll get one."
"Alright, good. I'm going to head up now. Will chat to you tomorrow." I grasp his hand and give him a fist bump.
"Night, bro."
A week has passed, and as I'm waiting for Dom to go to the car meet, I step into the kitchen, where I find Lorena making a plate of something I couldn't care less about.
She turns her head towards me. "Hey, baby." She says, with a warm and inviting tone before returning her attention to her plate. She's much happier these days. She sorted her issues with Dom. She realised she was overthinking about her parents' silence. And the main reason, I'm her man.
I take a moment to appreciate her figure in that tight navy blue dress before approaching her. I press up against her from behind, making sure she can feel what she's done to me. "Hey, pretty." I reply in a low, hungry tone. Wrapping my arms around her waist, I lean down to place a soft kiss on her neck.
"What has got you in such a good mood?" She asks, her voice playful yet curious.
"You being my girl." I push up against her harder, wishing I could undress her and put it in already.
She chuckles then her phone starts buzzing on the countertop, breaking the moment.
I glance at the screen and see a guy named Karl calling her. "Who's that?" I ask firmly.
