38. What A Night

Theo's POV

For the next month, I backed off from Lorena. Even during our tutoring sessions, I made no jokes about us or gave her any ideas. She notices the small things that I do, and I can't trust her. If she figures out my plan, she'll tell Dom and my life will be over. Also, she goes through too much bullshit in her life for me to play about with her. It's not worth ruining the plan for.

It's a sunny Saturday, so I decide to clean my car. As I'm carrying my cleaning supplies, I notice Lorena standing outside by the front door with a group of girls. I avoid eye contact with them all as I walk past to my car.

Once I set my supplies down, I hear giggles from the group first, then Lorena calls out. "Theo?"

"Yeah?" I reply as I open my car door.

"You know you're..." She says the rest in German, making the hyenas around her laugh.

I slightly laugh under my breath as I shake my head, continuing my cleanup process by taking out the floor mats.

"Theo?" She calls out again.

"Yeah?"

"Do you want to..." She switches the rest to German, setting the hyenas off again.

I can already guess what she's saying, and I can't help but place the car mats down as I approach her with a smirk. "You know, I've been learning a bit of German?"

This makes them all quiet, and Lorena widens her eyes in fear.

"So yeah, I want to." I say as I hold eye contact with her.

I hear a few gasps from the others, making me burst into laughter. "I'm joking. I don't know any German."

Lorena sighs in relief and then begins to laugh with the others. "I didn't say anything bad anyway."

"If you say so." I reply with a smirk as I turn to head back to my car. Lorena's hand on my arm stops me.

I glance down at her hand, and she pulls away with a slight chuckle. "Sorry. I just wanted to ask if you could take me to my university awards ceremony."

I visibly show I can't be fucking bothered. I don't want to spend time with her when I don't need to.

"Please?" Lorena adds.

I sigh. "Can't Dom take you?"

"He'll bring too much attention. Please, it's just one night."

As I think about it, I notice her hair is curly today. She must be going tonight. "I'm busy later." I say as an excuse.

"It's for next Friday." She replies with a smirk.

I sigh again. Then my gaze shifts to two of her friends who are snickering at each other behind her back. I look at Lorena, and I can see she's hating that I'm acting like this in front of her friends. "I'll take you." I finally say.

She squeals as she lightly claps her hands together in excitement. "Thank you so much!"

"But only if Dom doesn't have a problem with it."

"That's fine. Feel free to ask him." Lorena replies, still giddy as she turns back to her friends.

Her reaction puts a smile on my face, that stays on as I walk back to my car.

After half an hour of cleaning the interior, I decide to start on the outside of the car. By this point, Lorena and her friends are lounging in the front garden. 

I walk around to the side of the house where the outdoor tap is for the water hose.

On my way, I hear a girl giggling from the kitchen as the outside door is wide open. Then I hear Dom chatting in German and a girl, who is not Emilia, replying. Next, I hear lips smacking as they're clearly kissing.
