Don't ask what true love is

Don't ask what true love is,
What is the fragrance without the garden of roses?
If my sadness seems less in love, then
Don't ask what it's like to yearn in the nights.

Now I fear becoming someone's necessity,
Don't ask the consequence of becoming essential.
The pleasure of shared years is a blessing,
Don't ask what lies beyond that joy.

The veil of beauty is my beloved's charm,
Don't ask about the daily recitation of my gaze.
Reciting the beads of love is not obligatory for my companion,
Don't ask about my solitary worship.

It's not necessary to pray to God just for ourself,
Don't ask about my prayer for my beloved.
When I wander with tears on a smiling face,
Don't ask whether it's a secret of joy or a sign of pain.

It's not necessary for my separation to be a burden,
Don't ask what this stirring of the soul is.
Sincerity and openness are signs,
Don't ask what happens in love.
