THE PARK DURING winter isn't exactly everyone's ideal place to be but there's something about it that makes this particular friend group love every last thing about it. naturally, it's deserted and so they can roam about freely without anything getting in their way, the monkey bars are cold and make for good challenges amongst the games they're playing and the atmosphere feels cosy and comforting with their gloves clutching their hands and their jackets hugging their bodies in the warmest embrace imaginable. they run around with no one watching except the camera they're using to vlog for the triplets' channel and having the time of their lives before coming to an exhausted halt, at last settling on a bench that is within close vicinity of the play area.
rena is busy talking to the camera as the others chime in whenever they deem necessary and her head is gently atop chris' shoulder as she rubs her hands together to keep herself warm.
"oh my god chris sturniolo is a bad boyfriend confirmed. he didn't offer his girlfriend his jacket, cancel him," drea says as nick swivels the camera to her, laughing at her in the process and mockingly tutting at chris who sighs heavily.
"shut up andy," he scowls at her, only seeming to make her laugh harder and then rena starts to laugh too so he turns to her with a betrayed look to which she simply shrugs, going back to whatever she was saying as matt and river continue to listen and the others involve themselves in a different conversation entirely.
"now you might be thinking whose psychopathic idea was it to come here in november and the answer is shamelessly me," river informs the camera before rambling about how winter is the best time to go to the park because not many people have that idea and it's easy to enjoy your company without too much happening around you or interrupting you.
"kid just gave us a five minute lecture," matt shakes his head at his friend because whenever river wants to talk or has a point to make, he can go on for hours on end without even realising how long he's been talking for or that everyone else is no longer listening.
"it was a very good lecture," he grins and drea pats his shoulder and nods gently, making the grin on his face widen even further at the reassurance he most definitely craves from his girlfriend.
"i hate having couples surround me," matt mutters but makes sure it's loud enough for said couples to hear but instead of getting offended, they merely switch it on him, making him regret ever opening his mouth about the situation.
"just because you're single doesn't mean you have to be a hater, no one's stopping you from getting into a relationship," drea tells him, a teasing smirk on her face that matt sighs at.
