DILARA AWAKES THE following day in an extremely good mood with her heart feeling fuller than ever and her mind replaying every moment from the previous day in gentle frequencies that leave an ever so prominent smile on her face. when she first moved away from her friends at the age of fifteen, the desire to reconnect with them once they drifted was always there, lingering in the back of her head and pushing its way forward when she was left alone within the solitude of her own mind. after a while though, she stopped thinking about them as much and the hopes she had to have them back in her life began to wither away, slipping between her fingertips as though sand on a grainy beach. the more she thinks about it now though, she's not quite sure she ever stopped thinking about them and whilst it may be considered foolish to be so hung up on people, they were all her rock at times she didn't even know she needed as such. it's hard to forget people who you spent years upon years alongside because they engrain their memories inside your heart and the rest is history.
so yes, reuniting with said people is quite possibly one of the greatest things that has happened in her life, regardless of how sudden and unexpected it is. one second she was supposed to be going to the restroom to fix her makeup and the next she was surrounded by her childhood friends and speaking with them as though it was only yesterday that she was forced to leave them. despite how quickly it all happened, she's grateful and there's a large part of her that knows it's exactly what she has needed for such a long time, to be by the side of individuals who made her heart soar with love and people who made her laugh until she couldn't breathe properly.
and then there's matt. there's matt who she doesn't quite know how to interact with. they were polite to one another the night before and they were both involved the conversation, though she was most definitely involved more, but there was no direct communication between them aside from when they bumped into each other initially and when he said goodbye to her. now she's unsure whether it's because there's still a form of bad blood between them or a mere matter of unawareness. she herself knows it's weird seeing matt and talking to him when she spent most of her life hating him so she can't blame him. the thing is though, aren't they much older now and shouldn't their hatred be a distant memory?
