MATT RUNS A frustrated hand through his already dishevelled hair, his eyes narrowing at nick as he runs around the living room frantically. matt glances at chris, finding him with an amused look on his face that honestly just makes matt's annoyance increase. he doesn't even know what nick is making a fuss about now and he's certain they're going to be late picking rena up due to the millionth thing going wrong.

"nick hurry the fuck up and chris stop laughing, you do realise we're late to picking your girlfriend up," matt scolds his brothers, rolling his eyes at their carelessness yet again.

chris brushes him off instantly, not even meeting his brother's gaze when he responds, "relax i already texted her saying we're probably going to be late, she's all good."

that does seem to make matt calm down because the prominent scowl on his face eases as his eyes flicker to where nick at last grabs his shoes. matt breathes a short sigh of relief as he stands up from the couch, making his way to the hallway wordlessly as chris and nick follow, laughing about something matt doesn't find it within himself to care about right now.

"what's got you in such a pissy mood?" nick asks as they step into the car, matt in the driver's seat, as per usual, with an unreadable look on his face that of course makes both nick and chris giggle slightly.

"you," matt deadpans as he slots the key into the car, hearing the engine rumble a little before he begins driving to rena's house, the silence in the car quickly replaced by the music chris plays using the aux.

truth be told, matt doesn't exactly know why he's in such a cranky mood. since the morning, small things have been bugging him beyond belief, things that would normally irritate him for a brief second or not at all before he moved on. he brushes his thoughts elsewhere, hoping internally that the party will raise his spirits and if not the people, then maybe the alcohol will provide him some surge of ease at least.

he drives the short distance to rena's house, smiling when she enters the car and sits beside nick, telling them not to worry when they apologise for being later than intended. chris turns around in his seat for the rest of the ride, exchanging conversation with his girlfriend back and forth until they at last arrive at the party house.

if matt's being entirely honest, he doesn't even know whose party it is, just that a bunch of influencers are going to be there as well as people who are not so involved in the media. he parks his car nearby to the house and the four of them step outside, walking to the house and instantly entering. their ears are consumed with the loud music that rings through the house alongside the dozens of voices shared. they exchange short greetings with familiar faces and introductions with those they've never met before until they finally reach a place where they can dwell on one another's company.
