"I STILL DON'T understand like why the fuck are we in a circle? are we going to perform a ritual? if we are, can we please sacrifice matt because he's been so annoying today?" river rambles from his position in the circle, making sure to glare at matt for good measure but said boy simply blows a mock-kiss in response.

"guys you can't tell me matt isn't fruity," drea laughs as she addresses the group, watching as matt's jaw drops open in shock, as though that's the strangest thing to say right after he literally blew a kiss at her boyfriend.

"no like i'm more and more convinced his name is matthew strawberry," rena agrees instantly and okay matt should not be laughing right now but come on, it's a little funny, even he can admit that.

he shakes his head at the miniature exchange he can hear perfectly before he at last speaks, "it's the obvious jealousy because both your boyfriends would drop you in a second for me."

simultaneous gasps follow his statement and nick unsurprisingly pulls a face at his brother's words, "forgetting the very important fact that you and chris are brothers."

"love is love," chris shrugs and winks at matt and nick physically shudders which makes dilara laugh loudly.

she's been quiet through this entire interaction but her laugh suddenly reminds matt that she's with them. it's like something flickers in his head because his previous focus disappears instantly and his eyes now settle on her as she continues to laugh with river about something that matt can't quite hear. he doesn't know what they're laughing about, it could be him for crying out loud, but the sound of her laugh still makes him smile. he has to stop smiling though when he realises what he's doing, pretending it never happened seeing as no one saw and then going back to the original stimulant for the entire conversation.

"nevermind that, how the fuck do you still not get it?" he asks river expectantly and said boy purses his lips slightly.

"look in my defence⎯ " he begins but he's immediately cut off my dilara silencing him, an amused look plastering her features as she takes in the fact that this is probably going to be the fifth time explaining.

"it just makes it easier to play the game so we can all see everyone's faces and reactions; there's no specific reasoning. how the fuck have you never played mafia?" she throws her hands up and he shrugs helplessly, nodding along to her words though matt is sure he still doesn't quite understand.
