As the sun rose and a new dawn had arrived, the carriage was showered with warm golden rays of light that illuminated the path that they have taken.

Thud

A dull sound was heard as the right wheel of the carriage drove unto something that caused it to ascend for a moment and to drop harshly, waking Lanz up.

"I slept *yawns* while sitting straight up..."

Lanz slowly opened his eyes as his mind started to remind him of the events that transpired hours ago.

The first thing that appeared in front of him was the Paragon sitting with his legs crossed, his right hand on his pocket and his left hand strapped with chains like a glove was holding a pocket watch that created ticking sounds with each second passing.

His eyes was closed yet he was facing directly towards the pocket watch that was held with his hand resting on his thigh.

With a flicking sound, the lid of the bronze colored pocket watch closed as bluish mist enveloped it and vanished in a moment's notice.

The Paragon opened his cold and domineering eyes as he stared at Lanz's eyes for a second and turned towards a paper that was folded into four in Lanz's lap.

Lanz took notice as he quickly took the paper and opened it.

"Twilight's Order, the Eventide Tower.

-Sorceress"

The paper was otherwise empty if not for a single line written on the middle of the paper.

Lanz thought to himself for a minute, and the idea that the Sorceress would appear again if he tore the paper right now appeared in his mind.

"Is this an address? Right, she did save my life so it seems like I'm in her favour."

Lanz pondered silently until his thoughts was interrupted by a clear voice that came from no one else but the man in front of him.

"You cannot live a normal life, you were not normal from the time you came here after all."

"Then you should have told me that from the start." Still feeling a bit groggy after waking up, Lanz couldn't help but thought of a retort with a slight frown on his face.

"I thought I need not to tell you. I did not know you were that stupid."

As if reading his mind, the Paragon said to Lanz with a smug chuckle that jolted Lanz's mind to being fully awake.

He then inspected his belongings-his pendant, the royal decree, and the bag of coins that he got from Zayn.

He was still wearing the same tattered uniform but his body was no longer in pain, except for a single spot on the right side of his body just below his rib cage.

There was no longer a hole but as he touched it, a prickling feeling and a slightly burning sensation was felt in that area where the wound was.

The Paragon watched Lanz's face that turned from a frown to a grimace, and with a mocking voice he said:

"You're weak. You're nothing but an ant that can be stepped on at any moment in this world.

"But the deities are aware of your uniqueness. You'll only end up as a pawn in this game of chess where the entire world is the board."

As the harsh reality of the situation resounded, Lanz tried thinking of different ways to live his life without relying on the man in front of him, but all he can do at the moment was thought of the time when he was running for his life with rugged and heavy breaths.
