"Y/n L/n." A tall dark skinned man said as he entered the hospital seeming room I was put in once I arrived in district 13. "Colonel Boggs. District 13's head of security." He introduced himself. "I know you've been discharged, but President Coin's requested to meet with you first." I nodded, hoping I'd get there and they'd say they were on the way to get Peeta.
My ears were getting better, though I have sensitive hearing now, and everything is just louder. Though I can hear better, but in a sense, loud noises are much louder, and I'm starting to think it's permanent. I can speak, but sometimes when speaking too loud, it echo's in my head.
*I'm gonna add an interesting twist to the story, it has too do with TBOSAS, though it probably isn't accurate, I'm going to make it work for the story, so don't come at me for things that aren't true to the movies or the book (though I haven't read the books yet, I'm planning too).*
The only thing keeping me sane is the memory of Tigeris. We became very close during the time before my games. We stayed up together and talked about anything we could think of. We know each others darkest secrets. But, there was always one story that stuck out to me, the story of the 10th Hunger Games. How Snow had mentored a girl, who sang in almost every conversation she had. How singing basically saved her life. She told me everything about the games, the people at the time, Coriolanus Snow and how that girl was the death of him. Though the footage of the games were deleted, she managed to save some of the audio of the girl singing. She showed me a couple and she sang so beautifully. That girl's name was Lucy Gray, and Tigeris told me to swear to secrecy, so the story won't get out into the world, though I believe it should, except I wouldn't do that to Tigeris. I never thought about it much until now, I almost forgot. But since the games and all the murder, it reminded me of my first time, and that reminded me of her.
Colonel Boggs escorted me through a large elevator. He noticed how silent I was. "Your not much of a talker, are you?" I shrugged and he let out a very small chuckle, almost not audible, though I heard it. "I see." Once the elevator opened, we walked through a large area with an extremely high ceiling. We walked up a flight of stairs and then entered a meeting room. As I walked in I saw Beetee, Katniss, Plutarch and President Coin.
"Welcome, Y/n." She stood up and shook my hand. "You are a big part of what we are planning here and I'm glad you were able to join us." I nodded and sat down. As I sat down, Plutarch slid me paper and a pen, to write anything I wanted to say down. "Okay lets begin." President Coin sat down and began speaking again. "Are you aware of what happened when you ladies fired the arrow at the force field? You electrified the nation. There have been riots and uprisings and strikes in seven districts. We believe that if we keep this energy going, we can unify the districts against the Capitol. But if we don't, If we let it dissipate, we could be waiting another 75 years for this opportunity. Everyone in 13 is ready for this."
Is Peeta alive?! I wrote on my paper and showed Coin and Plutarch.
"I don't know, and I wish I that I did. But there's no way for me to contact my operative inside the Capitol." Plutarch responded.
"The Capitol has always suppressed communication between the districts." Beetee added. "But, I know their system very well. I managed to break through. All we need now is the perfect message." I looked to Katniss.
"Katniss, here's what we need to do. We need to show them that The Mockingjay's alive and well, and willing to stand and join this fight. 'Cause we need every district to stand up to this Capitol, the way you did." Plutarch said, holding eye contact with Katniss for a couple moments. "So, we're going to shoot a series of propaganda clips, propos, I like to call them, on The Mockingjay. Spreads the word, so that we're gonna stoke the fire of this rebellion. The fire that The Mockingjay started."
"You left him there...." Katniss said quietly. "You left Peeta in that arena to die."
"Katniss, there are so many-." Plutarch was cut off, by a slam on the table.
"We won't help without Peeta, especially her!" She shouted her meaning me. My hands went over my ears as she was just a little too loud for me.
"Miss Everdeen." President Coin said to her calmly. "This revolution is about everyone. It's about all of us, and we need a voice."
"Then you should've saved, Peeta." She said angrily, but in a quieter tone than before. She got up and stormed out. I looked around awkwardly at President Coin, Plutarch and Beetee, then stormed out after her. Katniss had a point to be mad, we're not helping without Peeta, so someone needs to get off their ass and get him.
