Her hands slowly drifted off the orb, grimacing.
The orb was a faintly glowing large spore that reflected the moon's serene luminosity—an item gifted to her by her father.
Her father.
She never knew him altogether, her mother, Seraphina, mentioned that he wasn't to be trusted, and whenever she questioned him, Seraphina's eyes flashed with severe emotions that she couldn't name, usually accompanied by her rubbing her eyes and glancing toward Luminara's chest like there was something wrong with her heart.
She never managed to see him after he bound that orb to her, faint memories of him brought immense stomach pain, like her insides were being torn out.
"This, little star, is my gift to you... When you're cold, it'll hug you like I once did, and when you're in trouble, it'll sacrifice itself for you, like I would" Her father's voice echoed in her head, the pain in her stomach increasing, she found herself clutching her chest, something is wrong with her ribs.
She felt numb all the time. She lay in this garden, eying the suns as they begin its descent and the moons gently rise, the garden came alive with the soft glow of bioluminescent flowers and ethereal plants. Bright yellow flower petals and leaves of every color in the rainbow, white luminescent grass, curvy elegant long fences surrounded the large garden, and a river spilled down the edge of the cloud it sat atop. The air is filled with a harmonious blend of scents, combining the fragrance of sun-kissed blossoms with the subtle sweetness of night-blooming flowers.
Despite the comfort this place supplied her, it was much anti-climactic.
She hated this place.
The memories that haunted this garden stuck to her like a sickly sweet honey, gooey and sticky, gluing her to this place with the ghosts of her past sending her slowly into insanity.
Her mother left her here to wait temporarily, the more she sat in this godforsaken place the more she felt herself drowning in memories, every limb felt heavy and incredibly hard to move, like weights were pinning her down.
Weights of what?
She shook off the uneasiness, looking over to her side, a young girl dressed in a white dress decorated with daffodils jumped up and down excitedly.
Her hair was sectioned differently in layers. From the roots down to her shoulders, her hair was white, with some strands being a blend of golden and silver hues, and from the neck down to her tailbone, it was a mesmerizing blend of violet, blue, navy, a shockingly similar scheme to the night sky in the heavens.
The girl looked back at her blankly with eyes that held the depth of the night sky, but so weirdly soulless and empty, unblinking.
The youngster's body shifted to some unholy transformation briefly, black tar spilling from all corners of her, small stars mixed in and stained with green blood, her ribs and bones visible, with the significant lack of a heart, instead there was this upsidedown shooting star frozen in time, trapped in its cage.
Something was strange. Instead of radiating light and beauty like other stars, it spreads darkness and anguish.
Her body kept changing, it was inconsistent, broken, even; as if she couldn't decide on what being she was, whoever the hell she was, deciding between weird mixtures of the goopy abomination and the innocent child, still looking back at her with those eyes.
Anger.
Anger welled inside her and she stared back, annoyance too.
Suddenly there was an interruptance.
