Luminara sighed, sitting down on the ground, her hands holding her knees and she huddled, thinking about the recent scene.
Maybe she shouldn't have done that- said that. She cocked her head, sighing.
Suddenly, a small black cat walked into the room, its fur fluffy, and around its neck was a silver chain connected to a moon pendant. The cat seemed very friendly, as it quickly walked towards her.
"Hello.." She whispered, stroking the cat gently. What was weird, was that the cat's fur wasn't warm, it was cold, but comforting at the same time? The cat responded quite quickly, purring happily. She smiled, closed her eyes, and exhaled. The cat perched up and nuzzled her. Luminara chuckled lightly, humming.
Unexpectedly, the cat began a sort of transformation, it grew larger and larger, its limbs began to change, then soon, leaning against her was- Umbra?!
They were against each other, the cold crisp mint scent of his breathing. The both of them were in quite an embarrassing position, they were what felt like 2 centimeters away from collision. It took her a second to realize that his hand was holding hers, and she felt her heart beat at what felt like the speed of light. They waited for either of them to do anything, say anything, the silence was so loud it was unbearable. It felt as everything paused except for her heart, her mind, and her thoughts flying around her head like a hurricane. She had frankly, never seen him so serious, it was intimidating at this point.
Umbra's left hand lifted to cup her head, his skin so cold- she watched as he sighed and drew out one word that punched her gut so hard her humanity flew out the window.
"Sorry"
Luminara opened her mouth to say anything, but her mouth couldn't form the words she was thinking, her voice had been stolen, gone without a trace.
Umbra seems to understand this, and he waits patiently.
"I-" Luminara stammered.
"You..?" He whispered.
"I-I'm sorry.. too.." She whispered back.
Umbra smiled, his eyes were still serious, but yet it was soothing.
It felt like their minds connected for a second, like everything just clicked, they didn't really say this but Luminara knew, Umbra knew exactly, and their thoughts spoke in unison.
Please don't go.
Please don't leave me.
Again.
"I won't" They said to each other in unison.
Finally Luminara knew what that feeling was, what Ravewyn and Lapis shared- What Umbra had been trying to give her, if it weren't for her ignorance, it was-
"Oxilyse wants to see you two- particularly shadow-kid" Ravewyn chuckled, interrupting her train of thought as she peered from the door. Umbra and Luminara backed away from each other as quickly as possible. "Huh? Who's shadow-kid?" Umbra asked sheepishly, acting like nothing happened between them. "You" Luminara laughed. "Aw- Not funny!"
"It's hilarious and you know it- anyways Ceruox is going to explain all the important stuff, but if he's late, I'll have to do his work... again" Ravewyn explained, her voice seemed to be dying out, raspy and coughing after every word.
"So- why are you doing all the work now?" Luminara asked. Ravewyn sneezed, opening her mouth to speak and then coughing. "Ever since Ceruox-" Raveweyn sneezed again "-Became a father last week, he's been going mental" Ravewyn mumbled. "Mental.. How?" Umbra asked. "Oh Ravewyn please- do my homework for me I need to make the nursery for the baby " She mocked.
