"Adair and Willow." General Ardmore called. We walked up to her. She handed us a folder. "There's your mission."
We opened it, and found a file on secret attacks on marines that came from a specific section of Pandora's forest, deep into the forest.
"Since you two have the device," General Ardmore said. "You'll be going there, trying to find what triggers these attacks. We know that it isn't a live animal, so it might be some machinery."
"You can count on us." Adair said.
"You'll be sent on a helicopter."
"When?" I asked.
"Now!"
And so, we found ourselves on a small helicopter, flying through the forest. I laughed in awe as I looked at the magical forest.
"Amazing." I heard Adair whisper.
"Beautiful." I said.
As we arrived at our destination, we heard the captain speak in our earpieces. "Be careful." he said. "We're landing right outside the danger zone. Tread carefully. We don't know what lies here."
"Gotcha." I said back.
"Good luck."
Adair got out first, then helped me down. We watched as the helicopter flew away, fading into the forest.
Finally, when we couldn't hear it anymore, we started to enter the danger zone. We walked for some time, but nothing happened.
Still, we had our mini guns out. "This thing sucks." I said. "It barely works. Give me a good sword any day."
"Shhh." Adair said, their finger poised in mid-air. "Do you here that?"
I stayed quiet, then heard a bit of rustling coming from a distance. Suddenly, arrows fired at us, multiple coming in many directions.
I started to dodge them, making my way to where the rustling had came. Behind me, Adair was shooting the arrows with their gun, actually getting some right before they landed on the ground.
Finally, I made my way to a bush and jumped behind it. There, I saw that there was no one. Just...computer activated bows?
The bows were metal and beeped when they ran out of arrows, which appeared from the middle of the stand. That explains the attacks.
But, don't the Na'vi have something against anything metal?
"Adair!" I yelled. "Come over here."
No response.
"Adair!"
Nothing. I was about to go back to check on them when I heard them grunt and yell "Run, Willow!"
Suddenly, I felt something hard hit my head and I blacked out.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I woke up on something hard and cold.
The floor? No, a table.
A few voices were speaking something...In Na'vi. Okay, I learned the Na'vi language, but I'm not exactly good at speaking it.
It shouldn't matter, right. I mean, I think I'm in a lab. Some humans have to be here.
I closed my eyes quickly as some footsteps approached me. <Who do you think she is?> a voice asked in Na'vi (I think).
<Who knows?> a voice responded.
<I heard that they're bringing some (somethings) from Earth.> another voice said. <Guess she's (something).>
<What about the other one?> the first voice asked.
Adair!
<Seems okay.> the second voice said. <Same like this one.>
"Will you all please speak English to make this easier?" a new voice asked.
Yes, please do so I can understand you better.
I peeked through one eye to see two tall Na'vi. One male, one female. They looked similar, as if they were siblings.
There was one normal human man, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.
And there was...A boy dressed like Na'vi?
Not only that, but I feel like I've seen him somewhere before.
They weren't facing me. Instead, they were sort of huddled together, talking in English thankfully. "What should we do with them?" the man asked.
"I don't know." the female Na'vi said.
"My dad's going to kill me." the male Na'vi said. "I knew I should have left them there."
"Well, we might have to worry about the boy." the boy said. "The girl seems like of soft."
"Hey!" I yelled, offended, scaring the shit out of them.
They all turned to me suddenly. "Um." I said, trying to say something to break the awkward silence. Then, I realized I had a more serious question.
"Where's Adair?"
