I don't know how long it took to reach the lab but I can tell you that it took way too long.

We saw many eclipses, many hours devoted to hunting, and Vivi...who was getting worse.

The first few days, she was coughing, but could still move. Now, she was practically a breathing corpse. Poor Chad was by her side 24/7, rarely resting.

When the lab came into our view, we practically melted with relief. I ran to the door and banged on it. It flung open and I was staring at the end of a...gun.

"Woah, woah!" I exclaimed. "It's me!"

Norm's face appeared from the other end. "Willow?" he said. "What are you doing here?" He peered behind me. "Who are those people?"

I turned to see Chad and Adair carrying Vivi, who was breathing heavily. "I'll explain later, but first, help her!"

Norm lowered the gun, his face full of concern. "Come in." he said.

Fast forward, here we are, Vivi on a bed, sleeping soundly. Chad was in the bathroom, grateful to finally take a bath, and me and Adair were getting checked out by Norm and Max.

It turned out that when the RDA found us, the last time we were here, they had installed some kind of tracking device in the chips that were implanted in us. (I got this from @Curi0us to Know [srry if I got that wrong] Srry for not giving credit eariler)

Norm and Max don't want to risk taking the chips out since they were already stuck to our lungs (somehow), so they decided to operate surgery to take the tracking device out, but leave the chip, as a whole, in. They think that there wouldn't be any infections, but they don't know for sure.

"As for Vivi," Max said. "I think that the diseases started because the kids aren't adjusted well enough to the environment. Especially since they're growing. Their bodies aren't used to the lower graviety, the different plants, the air."

After an hour, me and Adair were ready to go into surgery. "Willow." Adair said, in their hospital gown.

"Yeah?"

"I'm scared."

"We'll be fine."

Adair laid down on the table beside me. Equipment surrounded us. "I keep thinking that something will go wrong, but I don't know. I think that it's something from my past...On Earth. I keep thinking that I'm going to die."

I reached out and squeezed his hand. "Then we'll die together." I said.

And then, the needle went inside our skin and we blacked out.
