This is a kind of hot chapter, just so you know.

At nighttime, when I was sure everyone was asleep, I got out of bed, and quietly made my way outside.

There, I saw many machines still, and then, I saw Cass.

She was wearing a mask, a blue tank top, and a mini blue skirt.

I was wearing a green shirt and black shorts.

You can see that I was feeling very exposed.

"Hey." I said, trying to sound casual. "What's up?"

What's up? Really?

"Just need to talk. You seemed like the right person." she said, looking at me with her green eyes. I could see how light green they were. Mine were more darker, mixed with brown.

"Yeah?"

"I'm kind of...sad." She slightly shivered.

"Let's go inside." I said.

"I'm not shivering from the cold. It's from fright." she said, but she still let me guide her inside.

As she took off her mask, she continued to talk. "I never wanted to come here." she said. "But I had to."

"Why did you have to?" I asked. In the darkness of the lab, with only one lightbulb, illuminating us, I saw her eyes sort of...fill with tears.

"Hey." I said softly. "It's okay." I hugged her, trying to ignore my stomach flipping. For the first time, I noticed how tinier she was compared to me.

She hugged me back, resting her head on my chest. "It's for my brother." she said.

"I thought that everyone here doesn't have any family."

"I do." she said. "My little brother. He was already adopted, but I still got to visit him. I'll miss him."

I nodded, resting my chin on the top of her head. Slowly, she raised her head and met my eyes. Before I knew it, her lips touched mine.

I closed my eyes, savoring the taste of her.

We stood there, lips on lips, holding each other close, the lightbulb shining above us.

I felt someone shaking me. I opened my eyes, finding Adiar. Instead of the soft mattress underneath me, I felt cold, hard ground.

I turned to side to find Cass sleeping soundly, curled up on her side. I turned back to Adair.

They smiled. "Nice night?" they asked quietly.

I smiled and nodded. "You're luckily I got up early." they said. "I was getting water. Let's quickly go back, before anyone else finds out."

I got up slowly, trying to not wake Cass up. I took hold of her upper body while Adair took her legs. Slowly, we made our way to the girls' room, where only one bed was empty.

We slowly placed her on the bed and, before I left, I placed a small kiss on her forehead.

As we walked over to our beds, side by side, Adair whispered "So...That might have been nice."

I elbowed them while they started to laugh quietly. Then, they got serious. "Don'tt let anyone find out." they said. "They might forbade it."

"Even though the rule was taken down?" I asked, lying back down on my bed.

"Yes."

I closed my eyes and, to my surprise, quickly fell back asleep.

When it was 7:00am, we were called to be given our first mission.
