"I will never drink again" I said to myself. I hadn't been drinking that much but I still had a really bad headache. I had no memory of Max spending the night with me because my brain went off in the elevator the night before. I rubbed my eyes and reacted to the smell of burning. I quickly got up and went out to the kitchen to check what the smell was.
"Are you awake yet" Max asked nervously. "no, I'm walking in my sleep Max, what's that smell" I asked and looked questioningly at the guy in front of me. "I was trying to make breakfast and didn't want to wake you up" he replied.
We stood and talked a bit before it started to smell even more and I saw that it was starting to smoke from the frying pan. The pancakes Max had tried to cook were pitch black because they were burnt. "is it okay to cook breakfast?" I asked as I watched Max try to fix the disaster he had caused. i went and opened the window to get rid of the burning smell. He managed to ruin the breakfast even more so I chose to start cooking the breakfast instead of him.
I finished breakfast and we sat on the couch and ate in silence. "do you remember what you said yesterday?" I asked, looking up at the guy next to me. "I said a lot of things yesterday Francesca you need to be more specific"I sighed because I had hoped not to bring it up myself. "remember you said you liked me?" he looked at me and I saw how his mind wandered to that moment. I had a hard time reading him and what else he was thinking about it but finally he opened his mouth. "yes I remember that and I meant it" he replied and glanced up at me to see how I would react.
"we've only known each other for a month or so but I really like you and that's also why I distanced myself from you when you were with Charles" he continued talking "I know I was mean to you and I apologize for that but it really hurt to see you with someone else"
I was completely speechless by everything he said because I didn't know he had already fallen for me in Monaco. I tried to take in everything he had said but at the same time I saw him start to bounce on his leg and realized he was getting more nervous with each second I was quiet.
"I didn't know you felt that way about me, and I like you too. We've had our fights and I understand where it comes from. If we're going to continue like this, I want to take it slow," I managed. Max sighed in relief and hugged me. We snuggled for a while then Simon called me. "yes what is it" I asked and saw that Max wanted me to come back into his arms. "That's right, are you picking me up tomorrow or not?" after a while I hung up and turned to Max again.
"What did Simon want" he asked and stroked my hair. "he'll pick me up tomorrow so I'll go with him to the next race"
"why don't you go with me tomorrow"
"already talked to Simon so he would be disappointed" I laughed and saw Simon's face in front of me in case I told him I was going with someone else.
"can't you go with me to the next race"
"then you are the one who gets to talk to my brother, and if he allows it, I will still be standing in Alpine's garage cheering him on"
Max just laughed at my stubbornness and gave a gentle kiss on the forehead. His cell phone started vibrating and I saw it was Christian. Max gave an apologetic look and then stood up to take that call. My mobile also started vibrating and I picked up my mobile and saw that I had been added to a new group.
