The calm before the storm - Max Verstappen x Charles Leclerc

I woke up to the sun peeking through the curtains. I had fallen asleep on Max's chest and Max had his arms around me. "shit" I mumbled quietly to myself and tried to break free from his grip. "what time is it" Max asked in a dark and crisp morning voice and with his eyes still closed. I backed away because I thought he wouldn't wake up but I checked my phone. "it's 10 AM" I yawned while answering.

I got up to brush my teeth when I heard Max get a call. I tried not to eavesdrop but heard Max sound annoyed. "yes, I'll be there in a few minutes bye" after that it was quiet in the living room and understood that he had hung up.

He came into the bathroom and joined me as I did my routine. "I have to go now but I appreciate the time we had last night" he said with a genuine smile on his face. I nodded and gave him a hug without thinking. I noticed how he wasn't ready so he took a small step back which made me feel ashamed.

"Sorry" I said with red cheeks. "no it's calm, just wasn't prepared for it" he excused himself. He stretched out his arms to show that he wanted to hug me. We hugged each other goodbye and he left shortly after.

"I'm an idiot Olivia" I said the second she answered the phone. "what, what have you done" I realized I had woken her up because of her tired voice.

"I found out from Simon that several drivers were going to be staying at the hotel I'm at and Lando told me that both Ferrari and Red Bull were here so I was brainwashed-" I was interrupted by Olivia asking me in a serious voice. "what the hell have you done now"

"I told you before that Max had saved me before so I wrote to him that he could come by so I could thank him, I didn't think he would come but he did so we sat and talked and we fell asleep on the sofa. Then this morning I woke up to him holding me"

It was quiet on the other end of the phone for a while. I knew she was wide awake now after everything I had said. She loved gossip especially when I was involved in it. "so you didn't sleep?" Olivia asked, though she already knew the answer. "but no we didn't, what should I do? Haven't even had time to talk to Charles yet"

"I'll pick you up in an hour and we'll go on a shopping spree and clear our minds" was the last thing Olivia said before hanging up. I looked for nice clothes to wear and did a light make-up and fixed my hair. It had taken longer than I thought because I heard Olivia spam my cell saying she had been waiting for me for 15 minutes. I hurried down to her, partly to avoid meeting anyone and so that she wouldn't get mad.

We arrived at the mall and walked around the shops. We always used to choose a strange outfit for the other so they had to try. Olivia gave me a pair of plaid flared jeans, a leopard print sweater, and a waistcoat. I looked at her and just sighed. She sat outside the dressing room to see my outfit.

I went out and gave her a runaway. I walked away from her so I couldn't see her but when I turned I saw Charles looking at me. I panicked and ran to my dressing room and changed quickly. My heart rate rose somewhat enormously when I saw him. Hadn't seen him since he was close to crashing and was embarrassed that he saw me in that ridiculous outfit.

I gathered myself before going out again. I could see that Olivia was not happy to see Charles, I understand that she did not get a good picture of him after everything I said. "What are you doing here" I asked Charles, my voice shakier than I had expected. "I'm shopping for new clothes because my suitcase went missing," Charles tried to explain. "I'll go and wait in the car," Olivia said and left. Of course she would leave me when I needed her the most.
