Manik's pov
When I got home today, I had noticed the house was quiet and usually when mukti is home, the house is always echoing music because she believes in blasting it so I called for her and instead a small tiny little baby comes out of a room
Of course she isn't an actual baby, but she is so tiny in terms of height that I couldn't help but chuckle inside seeing her. She walked out of the room and timidly whispered a hi.
It made me chuckle how she kept saying hi as she eyed me up and down, I knew she was thinking about how tall I was. She then proceed to follow me to my room, something she didn't realize at all until I called her out on it
I have never seen her face but I have heard tons about her from mukti, there are times I would walk into mukti's room late night and I would hear Nandini's voice on the phone singing or blubbering about something random while mukti was a sleep
Mukti usually has a very hard time sleeping but ever since she has been friends with Nandini, which I think was from first year university, she has been sleeping so much better
"Hiii bhaiii" mukti greets coming in the house
"Hey, how are you? How was the party?" I ask putting my phone down
"Nanu" she whispers, her head turns a little making mine turn too
I couldn't help but smile slightly, I don't know why but the way nandini was sleeping holding onto 5 pillows was adorable.
"You were mean to her?" She asks me
"No, why would I be? I know she is your best friend"
"She is nandini" mukti says sitting beside nandini
"I know, she told me but what is she doing here? You never have her over"
"Mhm she is well was in such a bad place back home so I forced her to move in with us, is that okay?" She asks
"Sure thats fine, but why did you give her the room beside mine?" I ask
"I know she loves the balcony and that room has the best balcony, do you have a problem with it?"
"No, she is a bit crazy like you"
"Don't call my best friend crazy. Mhm bhai"
i hum moving my eyes from Nandini to mukti
"Are you free tomorrow night?" She asks
"I have a meeting at 5 but im free after 7. Why?"
"Abhimanyu and I are having dinner, can you and nandini please come as well?" She asks making me smile
"Sure. So who is this abhimanyu?" I ask
"I like him, he is sweet"
"Not what I asked muku"
"We aren't dating yet because he wants yours and nandini's permission first" she says
I know who abhimanyu is, when mukti started hanging out with him, I had to run a background check and he seems like a nice dude so I don't mind
"He better be nice" I tease
"He is" she says with a grin
"And this girl" I say referring to nandini
"She is wholesome, look how tiny she looks" she giggles
I don't say anything but It's true, nandini looked like a little baby sleeping in between pillows
"Wake her up, pizza is on its' way"
"Nanu" she whispers kissing her head
"Sleep time" nandini mumbles turning towards me
"It's not, wake up"
"Sorry" nandini immediately wakes up sitting up
She looked around and took a huge breath when she saw mukti
"You are okay" mukti says hugging her
"I am, sorry I completely forgot and it slipped my mind" nandini says
"It's okay, wanna eat. Bhai ordered pizza and coke"
Hearing that she looks at me
"Ill quickly change so we can eat" mukti told her and she nods
When I see mukti disappear, I look at nandini who seemed hassled, her right hand over her heart.
"Are you okay little one?" I couldn't help but ask
"Mhm yeah" she mumbles
"Come here, you don't look so good" I say
She shakes her head so I inch forward and grab the pillows from her rubbing her back gently. For a minute she was stiff, but then she melts into my touch
"It's fine, you are okay" I mumble, confused on why I was even saying that but I was
"Mhm pizza" she mumbles making me realize ramesh uncle was coming in with pizza boxes
I couldn't help but chuckle at how quickly she was distracted, she moved away from my touch and ran up to uncle
"You know I should call you Santa" she says to uncle
"Because I'm cool or because I had a red t shirt on today?" He asks playfully which was weird because uncle usually hates people
every girl I had ever brought over and by every I mean the two of the girls that I had been in a relationship with, and no not at the same time but yeah he didn't like them.
"because you got me pizza, I was starving like I thought id faint" she mumble
"Wow I feel like a delivery man"
"No no Rams uncle, you are super cool and though it wouldn't be a not cool job but I feel like you could be a Santa or a stripper mhm no I take that back, maybe I don't. Iahh im sorry, I think I don't know what I am saying"
Neither I, nor ramesh uncle could stop laughing, even mukti who heard the conversation was laughing her ass off.
"I am not bad okay no need to laugh, I am just hungry, I haven't ate in like 3 days okay so shhh excuse yourself" she says stuffing her face with pizza
i stopped laughing hearing her, she hasn't eaten in 3 days, no wonder she is so tiny, like mukti is small but nandini is smaller almost a concerning point I guess now that she has mentioned she didn't eat for 3 days
I don't even know why I am so concerned but she seems like a sweet girl plus she is mukti's best friend
