Chapter 24

"Nandini"

She looks at me, her doe shaped eyes staring in mine

"Don't do ahh nandini' I yell when she shoves the half eaten chocolate piece in my mouth

"You are just ticked off with something, I know I shouldn't jump around and I will be careful I promise" she says kissing my hand over the cut

I don't know what it is about her kisses or her presence, even her words, they calm me down a lot

"She has cracked the code on your stubborn ass" cabir whispers when nandini got up walking to the kitchen

"She has and it's scary" I mumble chewing on the chocolate

"I can't believe she was trying to jump and see where she would land, she even used her stupid calculations"

"Thats nandini for ya" I mumble

i give abhi a quick call to let him know of the situation and to my surprise he knew about nyonika, he knew what mukti has been through so that was easy but also I am so proud of mukti for telling him.

"I made breakfast" nandini says with a soft smile brining out a tray with eggs, toast, waffles

"You are a saviour and gosh if manik didn't love you, id marry you" cabir says grabbing the waffles making me chuckle

"Come here baby" I mumble grabbing her hands

She sits beside me resting her head on my arm

"Im sorry for raising my voice at you" I whisper caressing her hair

Cabir starts coughing on whatever it was he was stuffing his face with as he stares at me

"Water, drink water" nandini says patting his back since she was sitting between us

"Did you just fucking apologize?" Cabir asks once he recovers from choking on his food

"Shut the hell up will you?"

"No actually I will not"

I couldn't help but smile at how nannie was giggling hearing us, I would let cabir yell at me and talk back if it meant she'd smile like that

"Nandini baby you cannot be jumping around from the table like that, do it on the bed upstairs. I just don't you getting hurt" I mumble

"I understand, I will have you know I did do my calculations but I understand your point hence I will jump on the bed when I choose to" she says

"Very well"

she nods and I lean to kiss her head handing her the bowl of fruits she had gotten for herself, she doesn't eat a big breakfast or any meal honestly, she has snacks and then runs around for a bit before behaving another bite

"Mukti is going on a trip with abhi" I tell her

'She is?"

"Yes, she will be gone for a month"

"Oh, she didn't tell me" she says sadly

"She doens't know yet, I talked to abhi about it"

"I will miss her"

"I will too but baby she needs to be away from here for a while"

"Why? You don't like her?" She asks innocently

"I do, love, but there is just something going on and to protect her I asked abhimanyu to take her out for a bit. I'd send you too"

"no no I don't want to go, please don't send me away" she whispers grabbing my arm
