Manik's pov
I took a shower and the bandage that Nandini put on my hand came slightly off in the shower so I tried to re-bandage it because I didn't want to bother her but gosh it was frustrating so I gave up and grabbed a bandage with me.
As soon as I stepped out of my room, my eyes widen at the sight, there were flower garlands wrapped around the staircase, some beautiful diya's on the sides of the stairs, some decor on the front door, a bowl on the living room table filled with water and flowers
Never in diwali has this house looked so lively, we barely even celebrate diwali. Multi is doing her own thing, I am usually working so to see this house so decorated is beyond anything I can imagine
I walk to the kitchen and that was decorated too, it looked beautiful, flowers, some electric diva's. I make my way to the guest room and there were garlands above the doors but nanndini was nowhere until I made my way to the rooftop
She was standing on a chair on the rooftop trying to put up this flower garland and decoration on the door. Before I could realize what garland she was putting I notice her chair tipping a bit
"Manik" she screams and fuck, m heart almost jumped out of my chest
She wasn't too far and within a couple steps I was right there under her as she falls in my arms, gosh that was scary as fuck.
"Manik" she whispers
"Nandini what the hell are you doing? You would have hurt yourself if I didn't come on the terrace"
"Shit, I, gosh' she mumbles in my chest holding my t shirt
"I have people in the outhouse, there is staff that can help Nandini, why are you doing it" I scold her
"I just wanted to help, my mehendi artist is coming soon and nothing was done. I didn't know it was that far, I thought I'd reach it" she whispers
I could hear her heavy breathing, she was just as scared as I was
"God Nandini you can't be so careless" I say sitting down with her in my arms
"Im sorry" she whispers hiding her face in my chest
I wrap my arms around her hugging her.
"Did you like the decorations?' She asks when I pull back and kiss her head
"Yes but I don't like you risking yourself"
"Can you help then?" She asks
"Of course I can, but you won't do it again okay"
she bobs her head kissing my cheeks getting out of my arms, she grabs the garland that was on the floor and brought it to me
"Help please" she says with a beautiful smile
I shake my head at how easily a smile formed on my face as well, she has this positivity that is rolling off her. i grab the garland kissing her head.
"Here' she says pointing at the place she wants the garland
"And here too" she says handing me another one
"Happy?" I ask putting them up
She stands back and nods at me smiling
"Will you help me decorate the railing?"
"Sure I can, I don't promise it being pretty though"
"I will make it pretty' she giggles making me chuckle
The next hour her and I decorate the terrace and then the rooms, not the inside but jsut putting the garlands on the doors and stuff
"Nandini mehendi artist is here" I hear mukti's voice
"Go ahead" I tell her
"But there is so much left" she pouts
'Shh, go ahead, I will have Sheena aunty do the rest"
"Thank you mani' she says with the most beautiful smile
"Don't run" I say kissing her head
She nods and of course she runs down the stairs to the living room, I peak over the railing and see her and mukti sitting there, two men sitting there.
i smile seeing nandini giggling so much, even mukti was so happy as the artists started putting mehendi on them.
I make my way into my room and take a bunch of business calls but my head was constantly on nandini, everything about her makes me smile, she is my happiness
"Manikkk" Nandini calls coming in the room
I quickly mute my phone looking up at her
"Just a second baby"
She nods coming closer to me, I finish my meeting while she sat there in front of me on the bed
"Yes doll" I say
"You wanna see my mehendi?' She grins
"Of course I do, come here baby" I say
She smiles nodding as she gets up and stands in between my legs bending down a little to show me her hands
"It's beautiful baby" I say pulling on her waist making her land in my arms
she gasps a little looking at me but when I give her a smile she relaxes in my arms showing me the details in her mehendi.
"I also have a surprise" she says
"You do?"
she giggles nodding
"Once it dries I will show you okay"
"Show me now"
"No, later. Did you want to take a nap? I know you said the party will be for a while" she mumbles softly, the side of her head resting against mine
"I would love to but will you take one with me? Or do you have something to do?"
"I can take a nap but not In your room, I don't want my mehendi to get on your sheets"
"Oh shut up, you will sleep in here with me, I don't care about the sheets"
'they are expensive"
"No they aren't" I say picking her up carrying her to the bed
"Mani your sheets" she says
"They are fine" I reply pulling her to my chest making sure I don't mess up her mehendi
We talked for a while until we both fell a sleep.
