Roses POV

"Oh it's so lovely to meet you!" A woman said running up to me.

We just got to Patrick's mothers house as you can tell.

"It's nice to meet you as well Mrs. Kane," I said giving her a genuine smile.

"Please, call me Donna," She said smiling back.

"Rose, this is my dad, Patrick Kane Sr. and these are my sisters Jacqueline, Jessica, and Erica," Patrick said introducing everyone to each other.

"It's nice to meet you, Rose. We've heard so much about you," Patrick Sr. said shaking my hand.

"Same to you. A very lovely son you have," I said smiling at him.

"Are we talking about the same Patrick I know?" He said sending a wink towards me.

"Rose! We should go shopping and get our nails done! And--"

"Jacqueline. Let's give her some time to settle in," Patrick said wrapping his arm around me.

"Right of course. It's really nice to meet you. Patrick doesn't normally bring girls home so it's kind of new to all of us. He must really like you," Jacqueline said giving a giggle.

"It's really alright. I don't really do these things either so I'm right there with you," I said giving her a hug.

"Rose, let's go put our stuff away and then we will be down for dinner," Patrick said leading up some stairs.

"See. They love you already," Patrick said giving me a hug once we got to the room we were staying in. I'm guessing it was the guest room.

"You know them better than I do so I guess if you say I'm doing okay, I'm doing okay," I said giving a nervous laugh.

"You are too cute," He said giving me a kiss on the lips.

Just as things were getting heated the door flew open.

"Pat, mom sai--- WOAH!" Jessica said covering her eyes.

"Sorry, Jess. What did mom say?" Patrick asked like it was no big deal. Hopefully they have a good connection.

"She said dinners done," Jess said awkwardly walking away.

"Jess, don't say anything about this please," Pat said running a hand through his hair.

"You got it bud. Just come down soon," She said walking out of the room and down the stairs.

"What a great impression I just made on your sister," I said sitting on the nearby bed and putting my head in my hands.

"It's alright. She's the one that is good with keeping stuff like that," Patrick said sitting next to me and rubbing my back.

"Okay, let's just go down and eat before your whole family thinks that we are doing something," I said going to the doorway.

"Yes ma'am," Patrick said giving me a wink.

-

"So, Rose, how is your family like?" Donna said. I could sense Patrick tense up next to me.

"Um, mom-"

"It's alright. They died when I was young so I grew up in foster care," I said taking a bite of the steaming food on my plate.

"Oh, gosh. I'm sorry I said anything. I didn't know," She said giving me a sad look.

"Oh, it's truly alright," I said giving her a smile.

I didn't get mad when people asked me questions about my parents it just made me upset the way they acted after they found out. I didn't want anyones sympathy. Like at all.

"Do you have any siblings or anything?" Jacqueline asked me.

"I don't believe so. I was an only child when they died," I said shoving more food in my mouth so that we could change the topic.

"How have you guys been?" Patrick asked and I turned my head to the side to thank him.

"We've been alright. Have been missing you like crazy. Do you think you're gonna win the cup this year?" His dad asked him.

"Definitely. We have a really good team this year. We go against the Predators first round so we should be alright," Patrick said giving a laugh.

"But I like the predators," I said giving a pouty face. The whole table went silent. "I'm kidding guys. I actually hate the predators to be honest."

"Thank god. I was about to ask you to leave," Patrick said giving a goofy relieved look.

"No you wouldn't have," Donna said giving her son a stern look.

"You know what, I really like your mom Pat," I said trying to be funny.

"That's good. Someone needs to," He said sticking his tongue out at his mom.

"And you said Patrick was a lovely son," Patrick Sr. said giving a laugh.

"Haha, well we had a long flight and I'm super tired so we will see you guys in the morning. We don't leave until 9 p.m. tomorrow," Patrick said grabbing my hand helping me up.

"Do you need any help cleaning up?" I asked Donna before I went along with Patrick.

"Oh, no dear. I got it. It was lovely meeting you once again," She said getting up to give me a kiss on the cheek and then doing the same to Patrick.

"Goodnight, guys," Everyone said as we walked up the stairs.

"Well that was an interesting dinner," I said once we got back to the room.

There was a bathroom connected to it so I was in there throwing up my long brown hair.

"Yes it was. Do you like them?" Patrick asked coming up behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist and setting his head up on his shoulder.

"I really do. They are lovely people. Just like you," I said turning around and giving him a kiss.

"Good, they really like you too," He said smiling at me as our foreheads leaned against each other.

"I mean I would hope so. I would like be depressed if they didn't. It would stink so much," I said giving a relieved look on my face.

"Did you know that you are one of the only TWO girls that I have brought to meet them? Ever?" Patrick asked as we layed down in to bed.

"Well that's pretty cool. Hopefully, I am the last," I said cuddling up next to him so that my head was on his chest.

"You definitely are. I can promise you that one," Patrick said leaving a kiss on the top of my head.

"I love you," I said smiling.

"I love you too Rose," Patrick said.

And with that. I was out.
