Roses POV

"Now how are you gonna play hockey Rosaline?" She asked as tears ran down her face.

I couldn't speak I was in excruciating pain at the moment.

"What the hell?" I hear a voice come from the door.

I turned my head to see a man with his phone in his ear I'm guessing to call the cops.

"There is this crazy woman beating a girl," He spoke into the phone eyeing Joy.

At that point she bolted and the man chased after her leaving me alone.

I dragged myself to where I saw my phone and dialed the number.

"Hello?" I heard Patricks voice say on the other end of the line.

"Help. Me." Was all I could manage before I blacked out.

Kaners POV

"Rose?!" I yelled again into the phone. She wasn't responding.

I zoomed out of the room and ran to the car.

"Where are you going?" Jonny asked running after me.

"Rose is in trouble. I mean big trouble," I said tears streaming down my face.

Her phone,

I tracked her phone when we both kept losing them.

I pulled up the app on my phone and I got the directions to where she was at.

"Go win that game," I told Jonny as I sped out of the parking lot.

It felt like a thousand years before I got to where she was at.

When i found her she was unconscious.

"Rose?" I asked hoping for a response. I looked at her body trying to see what had happened. Thats when I saw it.

Her ankle. It was so dis formed I couldn't even look at it.

"Help is coming Rose. I'm right here. I love you baby girl," I said before grabbing out my phone and calling 911.

(At the hospital)

"Mr. Kane?" A nurse asked coming out into the waiting room.

"That's me," I said walking up to her and following her as she motioned me to.

"So a few things I have to share with you. First things first, she seems to have a minor concussion. She must've gotten hit in the head at some point," She shared with me as she looked at her clip board.

"Secondly, her whole ankle has been completely shattered. The bone was broke on the growth plate so that is gonna take quite some time to heal. So NO hockey for her. Not for a long time. Possibly never again..." She trailed off obviously knowing who I am.

"Jesus," I said running my hand through my light blonde curls sighing.

"There's also one more thing. Your...?" She stopped mid sentence not knowing what Rosaline was.

"Girlfriend," I said.

"Girlfriend right. Well she seems to umm.. I'm not really sure how to say this," She trailed off obviously nervous.

"Just tell me please," I asked impatiently.

"Well, we think she might be pregnant," She said quickly. Almost too quickly.

"Pregnant? Like carrying a child pregnant?" I asked with shock in my voice.

"Sir, I don't think there is another kind of pregnant," the nurse said clutching her clip board and walking out of the room. Not before wishing me a congratulations first.

"Fuck."

Roses POV

I woke up to a beeping noise and a pounding head ache.

Everything that happened slowly played back in my head. How did I not see this coming?

"Rose?" I heard an unfamiliar voice ask as I opened my eyes.

"Hello Rose. I am your doctor, Dr. James Martin. It's nice to see you awake. You took quite a spill, how you feeling?" He asked me giving a friendly smile.

"Eh. My head hurts," I said trying to sit up.

"Oh no. You have a concussion you need to lay down for a bit. Stay laying down while I go and get your friend that has been begging me to see you every two seconds," He chuckled before walking out the door.

Patrick. I missed Patrick.

"Rose?" I heard again but this time it was from someone I knew.

"Patrick," I said smiling as I seen him come in the door.

"How are you beautiful?" He asked giving me a small smile.

"I'm alright. Annoyed that I'm in here to be honest," I said rolling my eyes and then giving a little chuckle.

"Well we will definitely get you out of here soon enough," He smiled lightly then his face turned serious. Too serious.

"What's wrong?" I asked grabbing his hand and squeezing it. What if he thinks I am too much to handle now? Oh god.

"I have something to tell you and I am not sure how you are gonna respond to it.." He spoke.

Oh god. I can't lose Patrick. I can't.

"Patrick, please don't leave me," I said a tear running down my cheek.

"No, no. Babygirl, I wouldn't leave you for the world. That's not what I wanted. Don't you ever think that you understand me? Ever." He said wiping away the tear with his thumb.

"Oh my gosh. You scared me. I love you," I said bringing his hand close to my face.

"Baby, I love you. More than words can describe. But you can't freak out when I tell you this okay? It's going to be okay," He said rubbing my cheek.

"Okay, just tell me," I said a little bit worried still.

"Well, while the nurses and doctors were taking your blood and doing tests and everything they came across something," He said taking his sweet ass time.

"Patrick," I said sternly.

"Okay. Well they think that you could be p-"

"Perfectly fine," The doctor interrupted giving Patrick a weird look then motioning his hand to come closer to him while he whispered something in his ear.

"Oh thank god," Patrick said letting out a huge sigh and then coming back and smiling at me.

"Whats going on?" I asked confused.

"Oh nothing. Patrick was just a little bit misinformed," The doctor said giving him a pat on the back.

"Well okay.." I said raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, now back to your ankle. You are going to be on crutches for at least 6 weeks. Then even after that you are going to have to take a huge precaution with your ankle. No roughing around with it. It could be severely injured next time something like this happens," He said seriously.

"Okay. So no more hockey for a while...." I said sadly.

"Yes, no more hockey. I'm sorry," He said giving me a sad smile.

"You will have to go to physical therapy for a while as well," He said flipping through his clip board pages.

"Okay." I said running my hand through my hair.

How am I supposed to live without hockey? Hockey is my life.

"We'll get through this," Patrick whispered.

"It's you and me against the world remember?"
