"Why can't you let them be, Jungkook?" Y/N asked as she trembled, not out of fear but out of her intense dislike for the other person.
"Oh, Y/N," Jungkook murmured with mock sweetness, his fingers lightly tracing the curve of her cheek. "Always so dramatic. Isn't it your dream to have a peaceful hometown?" His touch lingered longer than necessary, a subtle invasion of her personal space. His other hand skimmed her cheek before venturing down to her waist, each touch invasive—a chilling reminder of his dominance. Y/N gritted her teeth, mustering the strength to jerk his hands away from her.
The proximity was suffocating, Jungkook's intent unmistakable. "Here's your chance. Marry me. Secure that peace for your precious brother and our town." Y/N pushed his hands away again, a defiant act against his advances. His laughter carried a malevolence that couldn't be denied. He stepped back, locking eyes with her. "If you want your brother happy and, let's be specific, if you want him breathing, then being with me is the solution for all of them, Y/N."
Y/N managed to muster defiance despite the fear. "This isn't for me, is it? It's about *her*. You're using me to protect her."
Jungkook smirked, his amusement dark and malicious. "Yes, it's to shield her that I have to keep you with me—the prized possession of the Kim's. As long as you're with me, your brother or anyone from Kim's won't ever—"
Y/N cut him off, her voice laced with disdain, "You know what? Let's do this. Let's marry."
He was taken aback, the ease of her consent catching him off guard. A pause hung in the air, charged with tension.
"But you know what," Y/N continued, her gaze unwavering. "You're going to regret this, and I'm going to make sure of it."
Jungkook's realization set in: he had lost her even before he could express that she was the one he had always secretly longed for, while she loathed him vehemently. In the twisted fate they had been thrust into, he had no choice but to continue. However, deep down, he understood that her agreement to marry him wasn't motivated by a desire for her brother's happiness or the peace between their warring families that spanned decades. No, she had agreed to this union with a burning hatred, marrying him not for love but for revenge. He knew that she would carry that intense loathing until the day she died – a relentless commitment to destroy his life and the people who wronged her.
