Jungkook Pov
"I should breathe," I told myself, though I couldn't tear my eyes away from her. Why was she so effortlessly beautiful? Her presence held me spellbound, a mixture of admiration and self-consciousness swirling in my mind.
"Mmm mmm," Miss Jeena's interruption jolted me back to reality, and I turned my head away from Y/N, hastily rearranging my expression into one of indifference. But it was too late; both women had caught me staring, probably looking like a total creep. I knew I could look at my own wife, but why did it feel like I was committing some secret crime?
"Are you done being weird, or should we wait for you to finish your stupid dilemma in your head?" Y/N's voice cut through my thoughts, sharp and teasing.
How did she know what I was thinking? I shook off the paranoia. Of course, she couldn't read my mind. "You look like someone straight out of a period drama," I blurted out, trying to cover up my awkwardness by complimenting her.
Her eyebrows arched in surprise, a mix of amusement and exasperation playing on her features. "You yourself look like you just stepped out of one," she retorted, and I winced inwardly. Smooth, really smooth.
"And you sound like you dressed in a hurry for a Calvin Klein photo shoot," she shot back, irritation clear in her voice. I couldn't help but grin. It wasn't often that my remarks earned such a lively reaction from her. When they did, it was always entertaining-watching her, so visibly annoyed, the faintest hint of anger in the flare of her nostrils.
"Lets go to the ritual," Miss Jeena said. And Yeah, thank you so much for changing the topic.
As both women walked ahead of me, they seemed close. From what I knew about Y/N, she was usually reserved, so if she had let someone in, it meant Miss Jeena is also very important to her.

As the three of them arrived at the location where the ritual was being held, at the back of the mansion in a garden adorned with a profusion of flowers, the scene was breathtakingly beautiful. It felt like stepping into an ancient festival, with everyone dressed in colorful traditional clothes.
"Look who decided to show up," Jin remarked as he approached Y/N. "You do know this party is for you, right?" he continued, casting a glance at Jungkook who stood nearby, his famous poker face unmoved.
"It's not a party, idiot," Grandma chimed in, lightly punching Jin on the head.
"How are you, my kid? Are you okay? Did anything happen?" Grandma came to Y/N and hugged her tightly. After the last sentence, she looked at Jungkook with an accusing look.
Jungkook met Grandma's gaze with an assured smile and teased, "I'm the one who needed protection from your little tigress, Grandma."
Y/N glared at Jungkook and then replied to her Grandma, "It's only been a day, and you guys are acting like I've been gone for a year. Everyone's been calling and texting me non-stop for the past 24 hours. Seriously, I'm fine. And like he said, he needs protection from me." She shot Jungkook a playful smirk.
Jungkook also looked at Y/N with a soft smile. Seeing his smile, Y/N frowned, wondering what was going through his head to make him smile like that.
Grandma noticed Jungkook's gentle smile towards her granddaughter and felt a sense of peace. She smiled warmly at Jungkook and said, "Welcome home, kid."
Jungkook glanced at Grandma, momentarily confused by the sudden change in her attitude towards him. After a brief pause, he replied with a respectful bow, "Thank you."
"Come, let's get you seated for the ritual," Jin said, giving Jungkook a little pat on the shoulder along with an awkward smile.
Jungkook gave Jin a confused look but nodded his head, mirroring Jin's awkward smile.
