Jungkook dressed himself and stepped outside his room. As he walked down the corridor, he glanced at each closed door, hoping to catch a glimpse of his wife, but there was no sign of her. The previous night, after their less-than-lovely argument, he hadn't seen where she went or which room she chose. One thing was certain: she must have chosen a room far from his.

As he stepped into the living room, he noticed a woman in her mid-thirties standing there, while the person he had been searching for was seated in a chair, engaged in conversation with that lady and having breakfast. Upon catching sight of him, the woman bowed respectfully and greeted him, "Good morning, Mr. Jeon. I'm Shin Min-ah."

He nodded in acknowledgment and replied, "Good morning. Yes, I remember now. You're the one Yoongi hyung mentioned, and he briefed you on all the tasks you have to do here, right?"

"Yes, Mr. Jeon," she said, confirming his question.

He nodded his head and took a seat near Y/N to have his breakfast. As he filled his plate with food, he stole a glance at his wife, who was pretending as if he were invisible.

A notification popped up on his phone suddenly, but he didn't pay it any mind because all his focus was on Y/N. Suddenly, he noticed her outfit and frowned. "Are you going somewhere?" he asked. Y/N looked at him and replied with a cold tone, "Yes," giving only a short response. Although he wanted to ask where she was going, he stopped himself. Then, he remembered something. "Your dad called me. He invited us to the Kim mansion for some ritual for newly married couples," he said, a mischievous glint in his eye as he added, "I guess he wants to make sure we're properly initiated into married life."

But the constant sound of messages was disturbing him, so he decided to reduce the volume of notifications on his phone. He suspected it was probably the group chat with all his cousins teasing him again, as they often did. Not every time was like this, but ever since his marriage had been fixed, they had been using this group chat solely for teasing.

"I know, Jisoo called me," she replied, ignoring his teasing part, much like she ignored his existence because she didn't want more conversation with him. Jungkook looked at her, slightly puzzled. "Noona called you? Why? I mean, she could have called me," he said, a hint of confusion in his voice. He continued, noticing Y/N rolling her eyes at his comment, "I think your family is keeping my sister busy, that's why she doesn't have time to talk to me," he added with a hint of taunt and irritation, feeling slighted by his sister's apparent disregard for him.

"Why are you whining like this? My dad called you, not me. Did I say something?" she continued, irritation evident in her tone. "And about your sister, well, maybe she just doesn't want to talk to you." Listening to her, Irritated Jungkook started to say something to Y/N, but she beat him to it, saying, "Just call me when you're done with your work. I'll pick you up." She stood up from her chair and walked away from there.

"Wait, why would you pick me up? I can come to you. Just tell me where..." Jungkook stopped mid-sentence as Y/N exited the house. "Why did I even think to take a day off today," he scoffed at himself, contemplating the idea of spending the day getting to know each other as newlyweds, inspired by his cousin Rose's advice.

He took a deep breath, feeling frustrated. This was the first time in his entire life that a girl had ignored him like this. Usually, when it came to girls, he didn't have to work for their attention; they usually threw themselves at him.

A call snapped him out of his thoughts, and he quickly answered, checking the caller ID beforehand to avoid repeating the same mistake he made earlier that morning.

After listening to the other side, "I will handle it," he replied shortly. All the playfulness that had been on his face disappeared, replaced with aggression.

Jungkook Pov

Rage is all I'm feeling right now as I think about my dad. How could he do this to his own daughter, even after knowing everything that happened to her? As I drive past the gates of the Jeon Mansion, a place that was supposed to be my home but never truly was, all I can think about is how things could have been different if I hadn't been so ignorant, if I had noticed the changes in my sister's behavior whenever he was around. But not anymore. He will get everything he deserves for laying his fingers on my sister, and anyone who tries to protect him will face the same fate, even if it's my own father.

In the living room of the Jeon mansion, two people were seated on the couch, each with a drink in hand. Jeon Ji-tae and Min Woo-hyuk had been close since childhood, best friends who stood by each other through thick and thin. When they were together, no one could touch a single hair strand of either of them. They wanted to maintain that kind of relationship for their sons, so Jeon Jungkook and Min Yoongi became close despite their age difference. Jungkook and Yoongi treated each other as brothers.

As Jungkook walked into the living room with long strides, he saw Mr. Min and his so-called father discussing something serious. Without hesitation, he walked up to them and interrupted their conversation. "Why did you revoke the partnership with GD Cooperation, which I had already broken off?" he said calmly, though a volcano was boiling inside him. He didn't show his inner turmoil to the people in front of him.

"Because I'm still alive, and whatever happens is according to my rules, whether it's in my house or my company," his father stated, gritting his teeth.

"Are you serious, Dad? You know everything that he did to Noona. I know you don't give a damn about us, but still, how can you help the very person who did inhumane things to your own daughter?" Jungkook also gritted his teeth and angrily spat out, dropping all his calm demeanor as he glared at his father.

"Answer me, Dad!" Jungkook's voice rose, his frustration boiling over. "You're willing to overlook everything just for your own selfish gain?" Mr. Jeon interjected, his tone authoritative. "Watch your words, Jungkook. You may be my son, but you will respect me in this house." Jungkook scoffed, his anger unabated. "Respect? How can I respect a man who puts his own interests above his own flesh and blood?" Their confrontation filled the room, tension thick in the air as both men stood their ground, the weight of their strained relationship palpable.

Mr. Jeon sighed heavily, his expression troubled as he exchanged a look with his friend. Understanding the unspoken communication, Mr. Min addressed Jungkook.

"Jungkook, whatever your father is doing is for your own good. This deal is not just about money; it's also about political strength. You know how much influence the Kims have in the government. We can't afford to lose this deal right now," Mr. Min explained, sighing heavily before continuing, "You know how he handled the news about your and Jisoo's marriage being public. He felt really humiliated today because all the politicians who were on our side made a fuss about it. He had to give them answers and clear their doubts himself."

Jungkook's confusion was evident as he interjected, "What do you mean the news of our marriage being leaked?"
